There Are No Silly Questions!
Especially when it comes to the NDIS.
A participant's parent once said something to us that we've never forgotten. She thanked us for not making her feel ‘stupid’.
Not because we'd solved every problem. Not because we'd found more funding. Simply because we'd taken the time to listen, answer her questions, and let her make decisions at her own pace.
That conversation has stayed with us.
The NDIS can be confusing. There are lots of new words, different opinions and plenty of paperwork. You're not expected to know what everything means.
So if you've ever thought... "I should probably know this..." or "I don't want to ask because it's probably a silly question..." Please ask anyway.
We'd much rather explain something than have you sitting at home worrying.
Because the best conversations start with a question. 💙
Is there something about the NDIS you've always wanted to ask? Drop it in the comments or send us a message. If you're wondering about it, chances are someone else is too.

** Respite *** What a fantastic respite adventure spent exploring the beautiful coastline of Encounter Bay and Victor Harbor.
From scenic walks and fresh sea air to time spent connecting with nature, these experiences are about so much more than getting out of the house. They are opportunities to build confidence, create positive memories, and work towards personal goals in a meaningful way.
We love supporting our clients to kick goals, overcome challenges, and experience new adventures along the way.
For those who enjoy nature, animals, hiking, and exploring some of South Australia’s most beautiful locations, respite can be a wonderful opportunity to do just that.
Give us a call to chat about respite and how we can support your next adventure.
For those of you following the progress of the NDIS Bill, please take a few moments to watch this video from Sam Prior at The Growing Space. Sam provides a clear and easy-to-understand breakdown of today’s decisions, what they mean, and the potential impact moving forward.
It’s well worth a watch if you’re trying to make sense of the latest developments and how they may affect participants, families, and providers.

Before I started working in this sector, I probably would have looked at a hike and seen just that. A walk through nature, some fresh air, and a nice way to spend the day.
Yesterday reminded me that sometimes a hike is so much more than that.
I spent the day at Mount Crawford with a participant and her wonderful dogs. The trails wound through the trees, the ground was uneven in places, and there were moments where the path ahead wasn’t immediately clear.
As we walked, I found myself reflecting on how similar that can be to the journey many people face when working towards their goals.
Progress rarely happens in a straight line. There are setbacks, unexpected challenges, difficult days, and moments where it feels easier to turn around than keep moving forward.
What often goes unnoticed is the courage it takes to keep going anyway.
To keep showing up. To keep trying. To take one more step when things have felt hard for a long time.
Yesterday wasn’t about reaching the highest point or completing the longest trail. It was about recognising how far someone has come. The confidence built through small victories. The resilience developed through overcoming obstacles. The quiet determination that often sits behind progress that others may never fully see.
Sometimes growth looks exactly like that.
A person standing in a place they once never thought possible, not because the path was easy, but because they kept moving forward despite the challenges along the way.
Those moments are always worth appreciating. Not because they are dramatic or extraordinary, but because they are real.
And often, they are where the most meaningful progress happens.
We are so very proud when we see our participants overcoming adversity and achieving goals that may have once felt out of reach. Watching that growth unfold over time is a privilege, and a reminder that even the smallest steps forward can lead to remarkable places.

Quiet Gratitude ☕
Some days, the work is complex. Plans shift. Things don’t always go as expected.
But when I stop and really think about it, there is so much to be grateful for in this work.
The quiet moments stay with me the most.
A child feeling comfortable enough to try something new.
A parent taking a breath after a long period of uncertainty.
A young person finding their voice and beginning to make their own choices.
These are not big, dramatic milestones. Most people would never see them. But they matter.
I am grateful for the trust that families place in this work. It is not something I take lightly. Being invited into someone’s life, especially during times of change or vulnerability, is a responsibility that sits with you.
I am also grateful for the professionals who show up with care, consistency, and integrity. The quiet collaboration behind the scenes often makes all the difference.
And to the people and families who I have the privilege of working alongside, thank you. For your honesty, your patience, and for allowing me to walk beside you through the ups and downs.
This work is not always easy, but it is always meaningful. 🌿
Building Bridges Disability Support Services began with a simple belief. Support should feel steady, safe, and centred on the person, not the system.
We support children, young people, and adults living with neurodiversity and mental health challenges, especially during times of transition. Starting school. Moving into high school. Stepping into work or study. Returning home after hospital and slowly rebuilding routine.
We know these changes ripple through the whole household. Support rarely sits with one person alone.
Our work is thoughtful and deliberate. Clear boundaries. Purposeful documentation. Open communication. Daily decisions grounded in the NDIS Practice Standards.
Quality support is not dramatic. It is built in consistency. In calm risk management. In protecting choice and control when things feel complex.
Trust is built quietly. In how we show up.
