ADHD doesn’t always look the way we expect. 💜

It’s often associated with being distracted or having lots of energy, but ADHD can also affect organisation, working memory, time management, impulse control and everyday routines.

And importantly, there is no single ADHD experience. It can present differently from person to person and across different stages of life.

This ADHD Awareness Month, we’re encouraging more understanding, fewer assumptions and more conversations that start with listening to the individual.

Because sometimes, what we see on the outside is only a small part of someone’s experience.

💬 What’s one thing you wish more people understood about ADHD?

Clinical support is more than a care plan, it’s about understanding the person, supporting the team around them and making sure care is informed, safe and individualised.

At Care Assure, our clinical support is led by Parwin Ilahi, Registered Nurse and Head of Business Operations, who works closely with participants and support teams across complex and high-intensity support needs.

Next week, you’ll have the opportunity to meet Parwin at the Neurodivergent Entrepreneurs Expo 2026.

Inclusion doesn’t always mean doing more. Sometimes, it starts with being willing to do things differently. 💜

There is no single way to think, communicate, process information, work or connect with others, and there is no single experience of being neurodivergent.

What works well for one person may not work for another.

That’s why meaningful inclusion starts with curiosity rather than assumption, listening to the person, understanding what works for them, and being open to adjusting environments, communication or expectations where appropriate.

It could be providing information in a different format.
Allowing more time to process a conversation.
Creating a quieter environment.

Today we asked a simple question: R U OK? 💛

We spent time checking in with our participants, support workers and colleagues — having conversations, sharing a few smiles and making sure people knew someone was there to listen.

But for us, checking in isn’t something we save for R U OK? Day.

It’s in the everyday moments. Noticing when someone seems a little quieter. Asking how their day is going. Making time to listen. And sometimes, simply being there.

Today gives us an important reminder, but the question matters every day:

R U OK? 💛

Because looking out for each other should never be a once-a-year conversation.
