15,000–20,000 people can pass through this square on a busy day.
At 5am this morning, there was one.
Me.
I had the idea of getting up before Budapest woke, hoping I might get a photo alone in front of St Stephen’s Basilica.
And somehow, for a few minutes, I had the entire square to myself.
No Photoshop.
No people removed.
No waiting for a gap in the crowd.
Just me, the Basilica, and an empty Budapest morning. 🇭🇺
From potentially 15–20 thousand people… to one.
Worth getting out of bed for. 🙏
Remember when we lived and breathed dirt jumps after work? Rebuilding them in the city, then hitting big XC rides with kids and dads. It was a true community. We saw the start of mountain biking, and then downhill bikes like Specialized's FSR DH exploded. Pre-selling 18 bikes before they even landed? That was the excitement of those times.

That's a wrap on the 2006 Bicycling Australia Show! What an awesome event in Melbourne. The riders pulled off some insane moves we never thought possible on this setup. The crowd loved it, and we had a blast! Some trials history from just the other day, 20 years ago.

Just going through a few details of the master plan .
So many friends created through this bicycle stuff ❤🙏
Today's Clip .
BMX riders and events I was able to record between 1995 and 1999, SA, VIC, NSW, QLD - Australia.
Snippet from a VHS video called 'Best of BMX '95 - '99.
Music is from a band I stumbled across in a live Rundle Street venue one night.
I then went and found their CD in Big Star Records. Contacted them through details provided on the back of their CD cover and asked if I could use their music in a video I was making.
BLISS was the name of that band I saw.
Hands down the worst title of any video I ever made. 😔
Thinking back to the wild video premieres of the past – packed rooms, cheering crowds, and an atmosphere that fed the energy. Now, it's mostly silent scrolling and phone tags.
