Why Join a Face-to-Face Robotics Course?

Some people ask why they should attend classes when excellent online resources already exist.

It’s a fair question.

The answer is that learning robotics is about much more than watching videos.

In our weekly classes you’ll be able to:

• Ask questions as they arise
• Receive immediate guidance
• Work with real robots
• Learn alongside other technology enthusiasts
• Stay motivated through a structured program

The curriculum provides the content.

Face-to-face teaching helps turn that content into practical skills.

We just launched our Professional Robotics Course for Adults.

One question we’ve been asked several times is:

“Do I need to be an engineer?”

Not at all.

This course is suitable for anyone with a genuine interest in robotics and technology, including:

• Engineers
• Software developers
• IT professionals
• Teachers
• University students
• Makers
• Hobbyists
• Career changers

No robotics experience is required.

We’ll build the foundations together, starting with Linux and Python before progressing into ROS 2 and modern robotics.

Learning Robotics Means Working With Real Robots

Watching videos is useful.

But programming real robots is where the learning truly begins.

Participants in ARCSA’s Professional Robotics with ROS 2 course will learn using our BotBox Robotics Lab, which features professional mobile robots equipped with sensors, cameras, and LiDAR.

You’ll move beyond theory and simulation to experience how robotics software behaves in the real world.

That’s where robotics becomes truly fascinating.

What Is ROS 2 and Why Does It Matter?

If you’ve ever wondered how autonomous robots navigate warehouses, explore space, inspect industrial sites or deliver supplies, there’s a good chance they’re powered by ROS 2 (Robot Operating System 2).

ROS 2 has become the world’s leading robotics software framework, used by universities, research laboratories and robotics companies across the globe.

Our new evening course introduces you to this exciting technology through a structured learning pathway that begins with Linux and Python, then progresses to professional robotics.

If you’ve always wanted to understand how modern robots actually work, this is your opportunity.

Term 2 has come to an end, and what a fantastic term it has been!

Congratulations to the 12 students who graduated from our Robotics Course and have now joined our advanced Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (AIR) Program.

Our Robotics students continued working through Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Academy curriculum, while our AIR students completed their first university-level robotics course, Linux for Robotics. They even programmed our FastBots to patrol environments autonomously using ROS.

Term 3 will be another exciting milestone.

• Robotics students will begin exploring our next-generation VEX robots, featuring built-in Artificial Intelligence and a gradual pathway from block-based programming to Python.
• AIR students will begin Python for Robotics, completing the two essential foundations for professional robotics before moving into advanced ROS 2 development.
• Our 2026 Scholarship Program is now open.
• AIR students will enjoy three exclusive robotics excursions this year, including visits to the Australian Institute of Machine Learning, RV Technology and the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
• We’re also launching our new Professional Robotics with ROS 2 for Adults program. If you’ve watched your child discover robotics, perhaps it’s time to discover it yourself.

Term 3 enrolments are now open.

Book your place at:

How can students stay focused in a world full of distractions?

At Adelaide Robotics and Computer Science Academy, we teach robotics, coding, engineering, and AI. We also help students develop the habits and mindset needed for deep learning.

One of the most powerful techniques we encourage is the Pomodoro Technique: short, focused work sessions followed by small breaks. Simple in theory, surprisingly effective in practice.

It helps students:
• improve concentration
• reduce procrastination
• manage large tasks more easily
• build healthy study habits
• stay mentally fresh during problem-solving

Whether students are debugging Python code, designing robots, training AI models, or preparing for school, learning how to focus may become one of the most valuable skills they ever develop.

In this new blog article, we explore:
• what the Pomodoro Technique is
• why it works
• how students can use it effectively
• how we apply focused learning principles at ARCSA
