On Monday 27 July all mobile phones, tablets, and other mobile devices will be tested for the Australian government's new AusAlert emergency alert system. 1:30pm on 27 July is the test time for all devices in South Australia.

At 1:30 PM on Monday 27 July all phones and devices in South Australia will receive an AusAlert message, similar to the one pictured. You will receive a text, your phone/device will vibrate, and your phone/device will make a loud siren sound for 10 seconds. This is only a test, and you don't need to do anything in response.

If the AusAlert test could cause you or a loved one to feel unsafe, turn off all of your mobile devices, before the scheduled test time. Leave your devices turned off for one hour.

Remember, all mobile devices will be tested at 1:30pm on Monday 27 July in South Australia.

⭐Today is International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, observed annually on 26 June. This day is an opportunity to pause and reflect on the lives of all people affected by torture, and its resulting trauma.

🌍With input from 42 torture survivors The International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims has created the 'Charter of Rights of Victims and Survivors of Torture.' The Charter acts as a unified voice of survivors of torture and a declaration to have victim/survivor voices heard:

🕯 “We, the victims and survivors of torture speak with one voice … Our pain has been silenced, denied and forgotten too many times. But through this Charter we reclaim our truth and our place in the world … Our voices will not be taken from us again."

📣On this day, and every day, STTARS stands with all victims of torture and we strive for a world where torture is eradicated. As an organisation we work towards a world where unconditional compassion and care is the universal response to victims of torture.
