Are you who we are looking for?
If so, you would be someone who you think would thrive spending time 1:1 with young people: getting out into the community, building daily living skills and sharing the things you are into, whether that is sport, music, gaming, the gym or cooking.
Casual positions with regular shifts, flexible hours around study or another job, paid training and induction, and a team you want to be a part of.
Less experience? We train you. A great character who is willing to learn will always beat a good CV.
We are rapidly expanding and growing and will have opportunities for Mentor Support Workers to join the Better Support SA team very soon.

Why your referral emails to support coordinators go nowhere
Bailey gets asked for referrals constantly, and he explains exactly why most of those emails go nowhere. It isn’t about what you offer. It’s about whether he knows who you are and what you stand for.

Get to know Molly! 👩🍳
Meet Molly, one of the lovely people on the Better Support team! 👋
Molly is patient, reliable and genuinely enjoys getting alongside people and helping them feel comfortable, confident and supported.
She’s spent plenty of time working with young people through her church community, which has given her a really natural way of building trust, encouraging others and creating positive connections without making things feel forced.
Outside of work, Molly loves singing, baking and spending time with her family and friends. So if there’s something being made in the kitchen, there’s a fair chance she’ll be involved 😂🧁
Molly brings a really kind and welcoming energy to the people around her, and we’re stoked to have her as part of the Better Support team! 💙
There’s a weird stigma around talking about money in the NDIS… but it’s a conversation worth having.
The hours, the pressure, the first year in business, and what it actually takes behind the scenes.
A little taste of what’s coming in Episode 1 of Better Conversations 🎙️

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT 🎙️🎙️
I’ve been working on something behind the scenes for a while now…
I’m so excited to finally announce the launch of the Better Conversations Podcast!!
I’ll be sitting down with some of the best people in the NDIS space and some of the sharpest minds in the industry.
The goal is simple.
To have real conversations about what it actually takes to run a great service.
The stories and lessons that come with working in this space.
The changes happening across the NDIS and how we can navigate them as an industry.
And most importantly, to give more visibility to the people doing genuinely great work.
I’ve already had the chance to sit down and record a few of these conversations, and hearing the experience, wisdom and different perspectives people have to share has been unreal.
I genuinely think there’s going to be a lot of value in this and it’s going to be a lot of fun!
Better Conversations is coming. 🎙️
First episode dropping soon.
Can’t wait for you guys to hear it!!
Get to know Dan! 📸💙
Meet Dan, a key part of the Better Support team! 👋
Dan is a friendly, approachable guy who’s passionate about building genuine connections and helping people grow in confidence and independence.
Whether it’s getting out into the community, building everyday skills or simply trying something new, Dan loves creating positive experiences and helping people feel supported along the way.
Outside of support work, Dan’s a qualified personal trainer and loves keeping active, travelling, music, gaming and getting creative. He’s also the type of bloke who enjoys building things — whether that’s a new idea, a creative project or even some LEGO 😂
Dan brings plenty of energy, encouragement and personality to the team, and we’re stoked to have him on board! 💙
Meet Angus 🏀
Angus is studying nursing and heading into paramedics, which tells you a fair bit about how he works! Calm when things get busy, steady, and genuinely interested in the person in front of him.
The other half of him is music. He plays drums, he is on the worship team at his church, and he leads the teenage program
there as well.
“I want to provide respectful, person-centred support that helps people feel comfortable and work towards their own goals.”
Angus is based in Colonel Light Gardens and travels across Adelaide. When it is not drums, it is basketball.

Meet Bridget 👋
Bridget came to support work from teaching swimming, which turns out to be excellent training. Standing at the shallow end with someone who is nervous teaches you patience, and it teaches you that confidence gets built one small win at a time.
That is more or less her whole approach.
“My goal is to help people grow in confidence and independence through kindness, respect and encouragement.”
Bridget is based in Rosslyn Park and travels across Adelaide. Outside of shifts she is usually somewhere with music on, making something, or out on a bike track!

We’re a younger team. But Qualified! ✅
We’re a young team, but there’s plenty of experience, study and real-world knowledge behind the support we provide.
Different backgrounds, different strengths, one shared goal! Doing support properly and building genuine connections along the way.
Just to name the experience behind some of the people behind Better Support SA 💙

Okay, these three come up so often that we’re just going to answer them properly. ✅
1. “Support workers are just there for company.”
Look, we love a good chat. But that’s not the job, and honestly the job is so much better than that.
The best shifts are the ones where someone walks away able to do a bit more than they could that morning. Cooking the meal together instead of cooking it for them. Sitting in the passenger seat instead of doing the drive. Standing back while they order their own coffee even though it would be quicker to jump in.
It can take time, and not always be easier. But It’s the entire point, and watching it click for someone is genuinely the best part of this work! 🎉
2. “Every provider has to be NDIS registered.”
Right now, nope. Plenty of great providers aren’t registered, and what it means for you comes down to how your plan is managed. Ask the question before you sign anything. Any provider worth their salt will be happy you asked.
Here’s the bit worth knowing though. Government reforms are moving towards most providers needing to be registered, so this won’t be optional much longer. And we’re honestly pretty excited about it. We’re not sitting around waiting to be told. Our registration application is underway right now and we’re lodging it the moment it’s ready, because the standards behind registration are exactly the standards we want to be held to. If we’re asking families to trust us with the people they love, we should be able to prove we’re doing it properly.
3. “You’re stuck with your provider until your plan review.”
Absolutely not, and please don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. You can change providers whenever you like. Check your service agreement for the notice period, put it in writing, and your funding comes with you. If a provider ever makes leaving feel hard or awkward, that’s telling you everything you need to know.
Now, what have you been too polite to ask? Genuinely, drop it in the comments or send us a message. No pitch, no sales call, just a real answer!
