AgC senior consultant Haylee Clifford caught up with the National Nitrogen Fixation project team last week in Tamworth to discuss the N fixation trial work and research for GRDC Investment ‘Improving the understanding and effectiveness of N fixation in pulses in Australia’.

The project is led by SARDI, in collaboration with Adelaide University, Murdoch University, Department of Primary Industries (Queensland), NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, WA Department of Primary Industries & Regional Development, AAGI - Analytics for the Australian Grain Industry and AgCommunicators.

The NSW DPIRD team lead a tour of their project trial sites, including an opportunity to visit the NSW DPIRD Chickpea Breeding Australia – Breeding and Research Centre.

The AgC team is out at the SARDI Minnipa Agricultural Centre annual field day today, supporting the SA Discovery Farms program as well cheering on the MAC team, who we work with on a range of projects.

Belinda Cay and Kaye Ferguson are amongst the 120 attendees (who are very rugged up!!) in the shed and field sessions - hearing from researchers on the latest soil, herbicide residues, trial and variety updates, including a keynote presentation from Soil CRC project lead Dr Mick Rose.

It’s fantastic to see such strong interest in research and innovation that’s helping to strengthen farming systems across the EP.

Belinda is in Mildura today, helping facilitate the final workshop in a series for the Grains Research and Development Corporation Disease Management Extension Network project.

Designed to be intentionally interactive and engaging, these workshops start with a getting-to-know-you activity, with a twist! In Mildura, the team chose to make the most of the spring sunshine and start the day outside!

These interactive workshops, run by expert facilitator and consultant Bill Long Ag Consulting Co, have provided an opportunity for growers and agronomists to build knowledge and practical skills to make confident, long-term disease management decisions.
