Sydney Builder specialising in New Residential Homes, Renovations + Extensions, with a focus on qual

A drawing is one thing. Building it is another.

On site, the plans become measurements, materials, levels and thousands of small decisions.

It's where experience, communication and attention to detail really matter.

Planning a new home? We would love to hear about it. Get in touch with our team.

The right builder can change the entire building experience.

Not because they have all the answers, but because they know how to listen, communicate clearly and bring the right people together to make a project work.

There are plenty of good builders out there.

The important thing is finding the one that’s right for your project.

Meet the team behind SLD Projects.

People often ask who'll actually be building their home.

The answer is us.

This is the team you'll see on site throughout your build. We work closely together, take pride in what we do and genuinely care about getting the details right.

There's no big corporate structure here. Just a small team that communicates well, solves problems together and treats every project like it's our own.

We keep the number of homes we build each year deliberately low so we can stay hands-on and give every project the attention it deserves.

Building a home is a big decision, and knowing where to start isn't always easy.

If you're planning a custom home or renovation, the best place to start is a conversation.

We'd love to hear your ideas, talk through your goals, and help you understand what's possible for your project.

Building a home doesn't have to feel uncertain.

While we can't control the market, we can control how we guide our clients through it, with careful planning, honest communication and a clear process from day one.

If you're thinking about building, we're always happy to have a conversation.

"That'll be too hard to maintain."

It's a comment we hear often when people are making design decisions for their home.

And while every finish comes with its own level of upkeep, we've found the real question is whether the feeling it creates is worth it.

At Project Maple, many of the finishes people questioned most, have become the features the family enjoys every day. The natural light from the large expanses of glass, the warmth of the Venetian plaster, the character of natural materials throughout the home.

When you're designing a home you'll live in for years to come, think about how you want the space to feel.

Because good design isn't about avoiding fingerprints. It's about creating a home that's worth living in.

Still one of our most talked about kitchens - and for good reason.

Some of the details that make Project Maple feel so special:

The concrete island with no sink:
Controversial… but one of the best decisions we made. It keeps the island clean, uninterrupted and far more functional for entertaining and everyday living.

The splashback window:
The natural light completely transforms the space throughout the day and makes the kitchen feel open and connected to the outdoors.

Minimal overhead cupboards:
This was very intentional. It keeps the space feeling lighter, larger and less visually cluttered.

Dulux White Cabbage Green cabinetry:
A subtle muted green that adds warmth and personality while still feeling timeless.

Venetian plaster rangehood and wall:
Adds softness, texture and contrast against the cleaner lines of the joinery.

Integrated appliances:
Everything feels seamless, neat and tidy

Playful kickboards and feature lighting:
Small details that add personality, warmth and another layer of interest without overpowering the space.

Curved detailing throughout:
From the island to the rangehood, the curves soften the space and tie into the rest of the home beautifully.

This kitchen was designed to not only look beautiful , but to genuinely improve the way the home feels to live in.

Most people think they’re saving money when they choose the lowest quote.

But what looks cheaper upfront often leaves out key details:

- Missing allowances.

- Vague scope.

- Unrealistic assumptions.

And one of the biggest things to watch is allowances.

Allowances should be kept to a minimum. The more that’s left as an allowance, the more uncertainty you’re carrying into construction. This is what proper pre-construction planning is for!

If you’re comparing quotes right now, don’t just ask “How much?”

Ask things like:

- What exactly is included in this price?

- What’s excluded that I’ll need to pay for later?

- Have as many items as possible been finalised, rather than left as allowances?

Those answers will tell you far more than the price ever will.
If you’re serious about building and want a clear, well-planned approach before construction, reach out and we can talk through your project
