Scenic Rim Discount Drug Store

🌸 SPRING IS HERE! ☀️

Warmer days, longer afternoons… and unfortunately, hay fever season too! 🤧

Now is a great time to make sure your medicine cabinet and handbag are stocked with your Spring & Summer essentials:

🌼 Hay fever relief – antihistamines, nasal sprays & eye drops
☀️ Sunscreen & SPF lip balm
🦟 Insect repellent & bite relief
💧 Electrolytes & hydration products
🩹 First aid essentials for those outdoor adventures
🧴 Aloe vera & after-sun care
😎 And don’t forget the hats and sunnies!

☀️ SUNSCREEN CHECK!
Have a look at the expiry date on the sunscreen hiding in your cupboard, car or beach bag. If it’s expired, it’s time to replace it — you want reliable protection when you need it most!

Pop in and see our team at Scenic Rim Discount Drug Store and we can help you get sorted for the warmer months ahead. 💜🧡

💛 R U OK? Day 💛

Today is a reminder that sometimes a simple conversation can make a bigger difference than we realise.

For the past five years, Janet our pharmacist’s brother in law Matt has jumped on his bike and ridden hundreds of kilometres to raise money, raise awareness and, most importantly, encourage conversations around mental health.

This year he’s doing it again — riding solo through regional NSW, starting and finishing in Dubbo. 🚴‍♂️💛

We’re incredibly proud to support Matt and the message behind what he does. If you’d like to support his ride and R U OK?, we’ve attached the link below.

And today, don’t forget to check in with the people around you. You don’t need to be an expert to ask “R U OK?” Sometimes just being there and listening is enough. 💛

💊 🧠 Pharmacy Fact Friday! 🧠💊

Did you know…? 🤔

Antibiotics don’t work against viruses! 🦠🚫

That means they won’t help treat illnesses like:
🤧 Colds
😷 Most sore throats
🤒 The flu
🦠 COVID-19

Antibiotics are designed to treat bacterial infections, not viral ones. Taking antibiotics when you don’t need them can contribute to antibiotic resistance, making them less effective when they’re truly needed.

💡 Our tip: If you’re feeling unwell and aren’t sure whether antibiotics are appropriate, chat with one of our friendly pharmacists. We can help you understand your symptoms, recommend the right treatment, and let you know if it’s time to see your GP.

💊 Pharmacy Fact Friday! 💊

Did you know? 🤔

Taking your medication at the same time every day can help it work more effectively and reduce the chance of missing a dose.

⏰ A few easy tips:
• Set a daily alarm on your phone.
• Keep your medication somewhere you’ll see it (as long as it’s stored safely and according to the label).
• Use a weekly pill organiser if you take multiple medications.

💜 Or let us do the hard work for you!

We can pack your medications into a Dose Administration Aid (DAA), taking away most of the stress of remembering to take your medication—or wondering whether you’ve already taken it. It’s a simple way to stay organised and gives you (and your loved ones) extra peace of mind.

Pop in and have a chat with our friendly pharmacy team to see if a DAA is right for you!
