As your body changes and grows during pregnancy, your spine, pelvic floor, and connective tissues naturally stretch and adapt. These changes can sometimes lead to pelvic girdle pain, low back discomfort, symphysis p***s pain, or tension through the ribs and neck. You may also notice changes in your pelvic floor strength and control — all of which are completely normal and can be supported with the right care.

Book your pregnancy appointment from 13-42 weeks and your postnatal check-up for 6 weeks after birth with our friendly team.

Endometriosis is a complex, inflammatory, estrogen-dependent condition where tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, often around pelvic organs, leading to pelvic pain, menstrual discomfort, and reduced quality of life.

With the support of a pelvic floor physio, we can understand your individual condition, guide you with techniques to release tight pelvic floor muscles, offer manual therapy to reduce muscle tension and inflammation, and create a personalised plan to manage flare-ups and maintain long-term results.

We're here to help you!

Physio, Michelle Kirby attended the Prostate Cancer Information Evening on Tuesday. It was an informative evening for the community to learn more about prostate cancer, discover support groups and services, and learn about the latest research.

As part of the panel of specialists, Michelle was able to provide valuable knowledge on how pelvic floor physiotherapy can play an important part in prostate health care. To learn more: https://www.pfmphysio.com.au/prostate

Why choose EMSELLA Therapy?

Many women experience urinary leakage with coughing, sneezing, laughing, or exercising. This often occurs when the pelvic floor muscles aren’t providing enough support to the pelvic organs and bladder.

For men, urinary incontinence and reduced bladder control are common after prostate surgery (prostatectomy).

EMSELLA offers a simple and effective solution for both women and men.
If you want to strengthen your pelvic floor muscles and improve bladder control, give our team a call.

Ever wondered what fascia actually is?

Fascia is a connective tissue network that surrounds and supports muscles, joints, nerves and organs throughout the body. When it becomes irritated or protective, it can contribute to pain, stiffness, tension and movement restrictions.

In this video, our pelvic floor physiotherapist explains what fascia is, how it works within the body, and how Fascial Counterstrain may help by gently reducing protective tension and calming irritated tissues.

If you’ve been struggling with persistent pain, tightness or symptoms that haven’t responded to other treatments, Fascial Counterstrain may be worth exploring.

1. “Normal pregnancy discomfort” doesn’t mean you should put up with it.
Pelvic heaviness, tailbone pain, leaking or pressure can improve with treatment.
2. Your pelvic floor affects more than just your bladder.
It could be contributing to pain with intimacy, constipation and pelvic pain.
3. Learning how to relax your pelvic floor muscles is just as important as strengthening them.
4. Your body changes throughout pregnancy. Learning how to exercise safely is important as your baby gets bigger.
5. Seeing a pelvic floor physio during pregnancy isn’t just preparing for birth. It’s also about setting you up for the best possible recovery.
