🏁 QRCCRA UPDATE – DRIVER'S STAND REPAIRS 🏁

We would like to provide a quick update on where things are at with the Driver's Stand and the work happening at England Park Raceway.

Firstly, a big thank you to everyone for your patience and support while the track has been closed.

Before we could get our engineer and builder in for a proper inspection, there was quite a bit of work that needed to happen behind the scenes.

The first step was getting our electrician in to make the building safe so we could start stripping things back. From there, we removed sections of the internal and external walls to expose the structural joints, footings and other areas that needed to be inspected.

Once everything was opened up, it became pretty clear just how much the structure has deteriorated over the years. Some parts of the stand are more than 30 years old, and unfortunately, it shows.

We've also cut into the concrete slab beneath the stand so we could get a better look at what's happening underneath and work out exactly what repairs are needed.

Today, we met onsite with our engineer and builder to go through everything we've uncovered and discuss the best way forward.

The good news is the investigation stage is now complete and we can get on with the repairs! 🔧🏁🙌

We received some great advice today, including a few practical solutions that should help simplify the repair process and save us some valuable time.

We'll share more details on the repair plans shortly, and now that the investigation work is behind us, we'll keep everyone updated as the rebuild progresses.

🙋‍♂️But we're also going to need some help!

As the work progresses, there will be opportunities for members to get involved and lend a hand.

It's not just the Driver's Stand that needs some attention. Our annual Council inspection has also identified maintenance that needs to be carried out on a number of other club assets around the facility.

There's going to be plenty to do, and many of these jobs don't require any special skills — just a bit of time and a willingness to help out.

We'll put the call out as different jobs come up, so if you can spare a few hours here and there, we'd really appreciate the support.

🤝The more hands we have, the quicker we can work through everything and get the facility back where we want it to be.

England Park Raceway is our club and our facility, and keeping it running takes more than just the committee. This is a great opportunity for all of us to pitch in and make sure we're looking after the place for everyone who races here now and into the future.

Registration is now open for the upcoming 2027 FEMCA ( Far East Model Car Association ) Asia Nitro Championship. 🏁😀

Follow the steps below to register for the event📋👇

✅Step 1: Sign up to RC Racepal at https://rcracepal.com/ and register your account.
𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞: After you enter your details, you will be sent a confirmation email with a link to click to complete your registration. If you don’t receive it in your inbox, check your junk mail as it may be there.

✅Step 2: Under your newly created profile, go to the ‘My Garage’ section and add the car/s you will be competing with. Note: You will need to add your car/s to ‘My Garage’ before you can proceed to register for the Asia Nitro Championship.

✅Step 3: Head to https://rcracepal.com/event_details/1788142939666x471847727111602200 and register your car/s and the class/es you will be competing in. Pay the non-refundable $20 USD FEMCA fee.

✅Step 4: Head to https://qrccra.square.site/ and pay the entry fee for your selected classes. You will also be able to purchase quantities of practice fuel and practice tyres for the event. Your entry fee includes the dinner presentation. You will be able to purchase an additional dinner presentation ticket for your pit person on the website.
𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞: There is an Afterpay option available should you wish to pay in instalments.

An important update for all members🏁❗

✅We are pleased to confirm that City of Moreton Bay Council has now given QRCCRA written permission to strip the drivers stand so that both our structural engineer and council officers can come and inspect the main structure.

This process will allow the engineer to determine what parts of the structure require replacement and what additional supports are needed so we can then begin the installation of the required items.

As a result, the track will be closed from Monday, August 31 until further notice. Locks will be changed so no access can be gained except from those authorised.

This is to allow time for the driver’s stand to be stripped, inspections to be completed and the subsequent renovations to be carried out as we gear up for the FEMCA ( Far East Model Car Association ) Asia Nitro Championship next March.

We will be calling on all available hands in the months ahead to ensure we have everything ready to go in time for the big one.

In the meantime, we are continuing to make every effort towards getting final approvals for our new amenities and canteen facilities and we will keep everyone posted as that progresses.

We would like to thank our local councillor, Councillor Cath Tonks , for her support and assistance as we work towards securing the future of England Park Raceway with a modern, fit-for-purpose facility that will continue to serve our members for decades to come. 🙌🏎

Super Sunday🔥🏁

With a smaller gathering at the track today, the nitro boys ripped in for a test and tune instead.

The weather was picture perfect and soon the sweet sound of screaming two strokes filled the air. 🎵👂🏎️

And with the IC Nationals coming up in October in Sydney, it was a good opportunity to starting testing different combinations and settings before gearing up for the big one at New South Wales Radio Controlled Racing Car Club Inc.
