💙 Sweet Douglas needs our help. 🥺💙

Douglas requires enucleation surgery — the removal of his eye — to relieve his pain and give him the chance to finally be comfortable.

We have not made this decision lightly. We sought an expert opinion to make absolutely sure there was no other option for Douglas before deciding that enucleation was the kindest and best path forward for him.

The surgery alone has been quoted at $3,780. This doesn’t include the initial vet appointments, investigations and referral to the specialist, so the final cost will be even higher.

We absolutely hate asking for help, but sometimes these beautiful rescue babies need more than we can manage on our own. And Douglas deserves better. 💙

He deserves to wake up without pain, to feel safe and loved, and to enjoy all the simple things that make a dog’s life wonderful. Watching him play and pounce brings us joy. We want to give back to him.

Arlo met the most beautiful family yesterday while out and about. His foster family were building his confidence and letting his explore the outdoors. Imagine their suprise when he chose their lap to sit on 😂 the floor is not for this gentle man. Thank you for stopping by to pat and speak to Arlo. He was the goodest boy and lapped it up.

Arlo would be best suited to a family with time, patience and a whole of love and persistence to continue introducing him to life outside the comfort of home.
