✨ Just 5 days left of The Red Dress exhibition at Museum of Brisbane! 🇦🇺✨
I’m now back in Brisbane to spend these final few days with The Red Dress before packing her up and bringing her home to the UK – and there’s lots happening before we leave!
Over the coming days I’ll be sharing talks, workshops and events around the dress, meeting visitors and celebrating this very special Australian chapter of her journey.
And if you haven’t seen her yet, there’s still time! ✨
The Red Dress is at the Museum of Brisbane until 13th September – so do come and experience her in person while she’s here.

Yesterday when I visited the Museum of Brisbane to spend time with the Red Dress, I was asked questions about the Australian panel and how it came together. I decided to put together a short video from some of the photos taken while we worked on the Red Dress from the first planning meeting to the finished panel. This was our journey.

Allthreads will be closed on Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12th August 2026 so that we can carry out a stocktake. Wednesday is a public holiday, and we would ordinarily be closed, so hopefully this won't cause too much inconvenience.

Last Sunday, I was excited to be involved with the Red Dress Project exhibition at the Museum of Brisbane as an 'Ambassador'. I was privileged to be one of many community members to volunteer their time, answering questions surrounding the project; How did it start? What is the point of it? Who contributed to the embroidery? Where is it going next? Which country is that panel representing?
Here are some photos I took of the Red Dress, taking up the space it deserves and representing ideas of inclusivity, vulnerability, strength, marginalisation...to name a few.
What the photos do not show are the crowds of visitors that made their way through the gallery space, observing the Red Dress with awe, wonder, and curiosity. Many visitors, of all ages and identities, shared their stories and observations with me, as we shared knowledge and gained greater understanding of each others' world views. The photos also do not show the commitment and tenacity of Kerryn from All Threads Embroidery, and Janelle of the Queensland Women’s Historical Association, who campaigned and fundraised to bring the Red Dress Project to Australia, ultimately made possible by the Warwick Art Gallery and the Museum of Brisbane.
I encourage you to visit the Red Dress, on display at the Museum of Brisbane until the 13th of September, 2026.

A walk with Kirstie Macleod through White's Hill Reserve this afternoon did not disappoint! 4 wallabies , 3 koalas, and a kookaburra in a gum tree! A fitting end to her first trip to Australia!
(The wallabies were camera shy and didn't stay long enough to get good photos)!
Over the next few weeks I will share images of some of the embroideries on the Red Dress with you so that those of you who cannot make it to Brisbane to see it in person, can still enjoy and be a part of our excitement.if you are able to make it to the exhibition at the Museum of Brisbane please visit! It is so much more inspiring and powerful in person! ♥️ #
