Bai Rui Taekwon-Do is a fun, family activity with an emphasis on self-defense, self-control and self-discipline with clubs all around South-East Queensland, Canberra and NSW, including in Brisbane, the Lockyer Valley, the South Burnett and the Border Rivers areas. The Bai Rui school teaches genuine ITF Taekwon-do as taught by the founder of the art, General Choi Hong Hi. - Squad Training 9am to 10.30am

- Squad Training 9am to 10.30am
- Black Belt Class (led by Mr Peter Moore) 10.45am to 12.45pm
Sunday at Albany Hills State School
- Seminar (Sparring, Judges & Refs) 9am to 12pm. Mr Austen, Mrs Lewis and Mrs Hennegan.
- Sparring led by Mrs Kirsty Povey 9am to 11am, Ring practice 11am to 12pm
- Umpires led by Mr Andrew Austen Theory 9am to 11am, Practice 11am to 12pm (Please bring a tablet or laptop to access both online material and the written competency assessment)

This weekend we are running our Judges & Referees (umpires) seminar Albany Hills State School 9am-12noon ahead of the Bai Rui Nationals. There will also be a sparring seminar running in parallel. A reminder that Black Belts should hold a Class C minimum, and class D is required for promotion above 4th Gup. We recommend a refresher every 2-3 years.

Where: Albany Creek club - Albany Hills State School
When: Sunday 27 September from 9 am to 12pm.
Events:
Umpires seminar: Theory from 9am to 11am, Practice 11am to 12pm. 6th Gup and Above.
Sparring seminar: Mrs Kirsty Povey, 9am to 11am, Ring practice 11am to 12pm. All ages all ranks.

Bring : Sparring gear, mouthguard & other protective equipment, notebook, pen, and drink bottle :)

Master Bates will be in Ipswich tonight, a great opportunity for Black Belt testing candidates to get some training in with one of Bai Rui's Technical Directors. :)

Bai Rui have been invited to the 2027 International Instructors Course (IIC) 5th - 7th March in Auckland. It will be instructed by members of the ITF technical committee - Grand Master Paul McPhail, Grand Master Jurek Jedut, and Master Virginia Dionisi.

This is open to black belts and above, and highly recommended for 3rd Dans and above. We will be sending a team to this unique learning opportunity, and if you are interested please talk to your instructor, or feel free to reach out to Bai Rui HQ. :)

We will be taking a team to the Auckland Open, hosted by VRMA - 8th November in New Zealand. Please let your instructor know if you are interested in attending. Previous tournament experience is the only requirement.

We were 8 points behind after the breaking event, but managed to dominate the sparring rounds to get a great last second win 52-51 in the Battle of Brisbane. What an exciting finish!

Great job all of the Bai Rui students & instructors who helped get the win over the line!!

Thanks to Mr Tom Foggo & all his seniors & students at ASTKD for a great day of fellowship & friendly rivalry. Here's looking forward to next year.
