๐Ÿ‘‹ If you're new here, welcome.

I'm Sebastian, and I thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself and share a little about who I am and why I do what I do.

Before moving into training, I spent 13 years working across the civil construction, mining, and infrastructure sectors. I continue to maintain my industry currency through ongoing professional development, industry engagement and practical machinery operation, allowing me to deliver training that's relevant, practical and aligned with real workplace expectations.

Over the past few years, I've had the privilege of travelling throughout some of Queensland's most remote and regional communities, delivering civil construction training where it's needed most. From Cape York to the Torres Strait, Gulf Country and communities across regional Queensland, I've seen firsthand the difference that access to quality training and employment opportunities can make.

I'm proud to work as a Remote Training Specialist because I believe people shouldn't have to leave their communities to access quality training. Wherever possible, I take the training to them.

What motivates me isn't the certificates- its seeing people build confidence, gain new skills, secure employment, begin apprenticeships or traineeships, and create opportunities for themselves, their families, and their communities. That's when you realise training is about much more than a qualification.

One of the greatest privileges of this work has been the people I've met along the way. I've been welcomed into communities, shared stories, learned about local cultures and traditions, helped at local events, and even enjoyed experiences I'll never forget. I've probably learned just as much from the people I've met as I've taught in the classroom, and those experiences continue to shape how I approach every training program.

For me, training doesn't end when the course finishes. Wherever possible, I stay connected with participants, share employment opportunities, check in to see how they're progressing, and support them on their journey into the workforce. Seeing people succeed long after the course has finished is easily the most rewarding part of what I do.

I've met countless people with the work ethic, resilience, and potential to succeed. Sometimes all that's missing is access to the right training and opportunity. That's why I do what I do.

Whether you've trained with us before, you're looking for opportunities for yourself or someone you know, you're part of a community organisation, or you've only just discovered this page - thank you for being here!

If you'd like to learn more about our training programs, discuss opportunities for your community, or simply say hello, we'd love to hear from you.

๐Ÿšง RIIENV201E โ€“ Isolate and Secure Site Exercise | Palm Island ๐Ÿšง

A big shout-out to our Palm Island crew, who recently completed a practical RIIENV201E training exercise focused on responding to the discovery of human remains in the workplace (using a toy dog bone for simulation purposes).

Upon identifying the simulated find, the team followed correct procedures to immediately isolate the area, establish exclusion zones, and control site access. These exercises are designed to reinforce the importance of protecting potential evidence, ensuring worker safety, and meeting legal and environmental obligations.
Training scenarios like this build confidence, strengthen teamwork, and ensure our crews are prepared to respond professionally and appropriately when unexpected situations arise on site.

๐Ÿ‘ Well done to everyone involved for their commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous learning.
