Last month our EmpowerHer women's group came together for another candle-making workshop. Not only did the workshop spark creativity and calmness, but the morning was full of connection as women shared stories and laughter together 💜
One participant shared her thoughts, saying "There’s something truly special about gathering together, creating with our hands, and simply enjoying each other’s company." This is exactly why we created EmpowerHer, to create environments that bring women together so they can build friendships, and grow in confidence.
A huge thank you to the Lord Mayor's Charitable Trust for making this workshop possible and helping create opportunities for women to learn, connect and support one another.
The Community Healing and Accountability (CHAA) movement is supported by the Queensland Government through the Empowering Multicultural Community Projects grant. Thank you for helping strengthen our communities

Meet our newest ICH V-Team members⭐
This month, four new volunteers joined the ICH V-Team, and we couldn't be more grateful💛
What brings them to us?
A shared belief in community: creating spaces where people feel safe, connected, and valued, in the true spirit of CHAA.
But it goes both ways. Our volunteers tell us that giving back gives them purpose too, and that showing up for others has been just as good for their own hearts and minds.
To our V-Team: thank you for the energy, generosity, and heart you bring every single time. We're so glad you're here.
If you would like to learn more about how you can play a role in creating a community free from violence, please reach out to us at [email protected] 🩵

These regular deliveries help ensure good food reaches local individuals and families, while reducing food waste and supporting our community when it matters most. A big thank you to OzHarvest Queensland for the important work you do and for helping us continue to support our community!

Meet our first CHAA V-Team cohort! 💜
Last month, we proudly onboarded eight incredible women, with another three wonderful volunteers also joining our growing V-Team.
Building on their roles as Natural Helpers, these women are stepping into more active leadership and organising roles within our CHAA groups, bringing their wisdom, skills and passion for creating peaceful families and communities.
Through their support, more women can come together, build meaningful connections and learn how they too can be Natural Helpers for those around them, helping to prevent and end domestic and family violence.
We’re so grateful to have this wonderful group helping to grow the CHAA movement and playing an important role in preventing and ending domestic and family violence. The Community Healing and Accountability (CHAA) movement is supported by the Queensland Government through the Empowering Multicultural Community Projects grant. Thank you for helping strengthen our communities

Today is R U OK? Day 💛
This year’s message, “Ask R U OK? Any Day,” reminds us that checking in with the people around us shouldn’t be limited to just one day of the year.
At Inala Community House, we know how important connection and community can be. Taking the time to genuinely ask a friend, family member, neighbour or colleague “Are you OK?” and really listen can help someone feel cared for, supported and less alone.
A simple conversation can make a meaningful difference. So, if someone is on your mind, reach out, check in and let them know you’re there. Because R U OK? Day is a reminder, but every day is an opportunity to connect.

This National Child Protection Week, we’re reminded that every conversation matters 💚
This year’s theme, “Every Conversation Matters, Shifting Conversation to Action,” encourages us to go beyond starting important conversations and think about the practical actions we can all take to support children and families.
At Inala Community House, we believe strong, connected communities play an important role in creating environments where children and young people feel heard, valued, safe and supported.
Whether you’re a parent, carer, educator, neighbour or community member, we all have a role to play. By listening, supporting one another and turning conversations into action, together we can help build a safer and stronger community for every child. 🌱
