From one suitcase to a journey beyond borders—every setback became part of the climb. ❤️

In 2008, I arrived in Australia with basic English, no connections, and a dream for a better future. The journey wasn't easy. There were failures, losses, difficult decisions, and moments when almost everything was at risk. But every setback became a lesson.
The turning point came through one powerful lesson: you can't be everything to everyone. Sometimes, growth begins when you focus, specialise, and commit to becoming better at one thing. For Hom Pyashi, that journey led to 8848 Momo House and a vision that continues to grow beyond borders.

Failure doesn't have to be the end of your story. Sometimes, it's simply preparing you for the next chapter. If you're going through your own struggles right now, keep moving forward—every climb comes with difficult steps before reaching the summit. 📈

Starting a franchise is more than just opening a shop. It’s about having the right people, the right support, and growing together. 🙏

There’s a lot more behind a momo restaurant than what you see on the plate.

In this video, Hom Pyashi shares a little about what goes into building 8848 Momo House and why having a good system matters when you want to grow.

For us, it’s not only about selling momos. It’s about creating a place where people can enjoy good food, feel welcome, and come back again. 8848 Momo House started with a love for momos and has grown into a Nepalese food brand serving Nepalese dumplings and Oriental fusion food. From classic steamed momos to Jhol Momo and different fusion dishes, there’s something for everyone.

But growing a restaurant brand comes with its own challenges. Every store needs consistency, support, good people and a team that understands the bigger picture. That’s why a franchise is not simply about using a brand name. There is a lot of work and learning behind it.

If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to grow a momo restaurant, this video gives you a small look behind the scenes. At the end of the day, it’s about keeping the food good, taking care of the people, and building something that can grow with the community.

That’s what we’re working towards with 8848 Momo House — one momo, one store and one community at a time. 🙏

From one small beginning to a global dream, every momo, every person, and every milestone shaped this journey.

What started with a simple love for momo has grown into a journey that reaches far beyond one place. In this video, Hom Pyashi shares the story behind 8848 Momo House, the challenges of starting out, the lessons along the way, and the dream of taking Nepali momo to a wider global audience.

Momo is more than just food—it is comfort, connection, memories, and a taste that brings people together. For Hom Pyashi, the journey has always been about more than building a momo restaurant. It has been about creating something that represents Nepali food, culture, and the people who have supported the journey from the beginning.

From the early days of building the business to reaching new markets, every step has come with its own challenges and milestones. What makes the journey special is the people behind it—the team, customers, supporters, and community who continue to grow alongside 8848 Momo House.

Today, 8848 Momo House continues to bring Nepali dumplings and familiar momo flavours to more people, while keeping the feeling of a welcoming momo restaurant at the heart of everything.

For anyone searching for a momo restaurant in Australia, Nepali dumplings, or a place to enjoy momo with friends and family, this journey is a reminder that every big dream starts somewhere small.

Networking and understanding our people has been a big part of how we’ve grown the 8848 Momo House family. ❤️

Ever wondered what really helps a business grow? For us, it has always come down to people. You can have a good business plan, strong marketing, and the right systems, but if you don’t understand the people around you, it’s hard to grow together.

At 8848 Momo House, getting to know our team is about more than just knowing their roles. It’s about understanding their strengths, their personalities, how they work, and what each person brings to the table. When people understand and trust each other, everything starts to work better.

That’s something we’ve learned throughout our own journey. From our early days to growing our momo family across different places, there have been so many people behind every step. Our team, customers, friends, and everyone who has supported us have all played a part in where we are today.

For us, 8848 Momo House is about more than just momo. It’s about bringing people together, sharing good food, having conversations, and creating memories. Whether you’re stopping by for our $1 momo, enjoying a meal with your family, or simply following our journey, you’re part of it too. ❤️

We have a big vision ahead — 1,000 stores around the world. It’s a big goal, but we believe it starts with the people around us and the relationships we build along the way.

One failed restaurant taught Hom Pyashi a powerful lesson: people don’t just eat food—they connect with what feels like home.

Hom Pyashi shares an important lesson from his entrepreneurial journey: not every idea works simply because it sounds good on paper. His experience exploring a café and Italian restaurant concept made him look deeper into what people genuinely connect with.

For Nepali consumers, food is deeply connected to identity, memories, family, culture, and everyday life. That emotional connection can be incredibly powerful when building a food business.

This experience taught Hom Pyashi the importance of understanding your customers. Instead of only asking, “What can I sell?” businesses should also ask, “What do people already love, and why?”

Sometimes, a failed idea isn’t really a failure. It can teach you what your customers truly value. For Hom Pyashi, that realization helped shape a brand centered around momos, Nepali flavours, community, and the feeling of home.

8848 Momo House continues to bring Nepalese dumplings and Oriental fusion to communities across Australia, creating a place where people can enjoy familiar flavours while experiencing a taste of Nepal.
