After spending the last six days getting to know Jocky, his Angel Carer has given us an even better insight into this gorgeous little character — and one thing is VERY clear…

Jocky is an extremely confident little boy with a BIG personality! 😂💙

He approaches life enthusiastically and wants to be right in the middle of whatever is happening.

Something new to investigate? Jocky’s going first.

Someone playing? Count him in.

Humans handing out attention? Excuse me, Jocky is available! 😂🐾

He’s bold, curious, affectionate and certainly not a puppy who quietly disappears into the background.

But with all that confidence comes an important responsibility for his future family.

💙 JOCKY NEEDS GUIDANCE AS HE GROWS

Jocky is still a very young puppy learning how to navigate the world and what is — and isn’t — appropriate puppy behaviour.

Right now, one of his favourite cheeky habits is grabbing onto clothing with those razor-sharp puppy teefies and deciding he’s not quite ready to let go. 😅😂

And anyone who has experienced puppy teeth knows those tiny chompers can PINCH!

Sometimes he needs a little extra help to disengage, so his Angel Carer is working on teaching him appropriate alternatives and helping him understand that humans and their clothing aren’t chew toys. 😂💙

This isn’t about labelling Jocky as a “naughty” puppy.

He’s a confident baby who is learning.

But because of his breed mix, Jocky is expected to become a large, strong and powerful adult dog, so we want his future family to understand that the training and boundaries established now really matter.

🏡 JOCKY’S IDEAL FAMILY

We’re looking for someone who can provide Jocky with calm, patient and consistent leadership, while continuing to build on his training using positive, reward-based methods.

His family needs to be committed to helping him develop:

🐾 Appropriate puppy-mouth behaviour
🐾 Impulse control
🐾 Calm settling skills
🐾 Positive socialisation
🐾 Lead manners
🐾 Appropriate play
🐾 Confidence with boundaries
🐾 Mental enrichment
🐾 Good manners as he grows
🐾 Positive exposure to different environments

Jocky doesn’t need someone to squash that wonderful confidence.

He needs someone who can channel it. ❤️

Someone patient enough to teach him.

Consistent enough to maintain boundaries.

Caring enough to understand he’s still learning.

And committed enough to continue that work when the little puppy in front of them becomes a much bigger dog. 🐶💙

Because underneath all that confidence and cheek is a gorgeous, affectionate little boy with loads of potential.
