Orbus3 RTO# 40761

Congratulations to one of our recent graduates from Bulloo Shire Council on completing his Certificate IV with Orbus³.

We loved seeing his achievement recognised in the Bulloo Shire newsletter.

Supporting people to build their skills while continuing to work and contribute in regional communities is exactly what workplace-based training is all about.

Congratulations on a fantastic achievement, and thank you to Bulloo Shire Council for continuing to support the development of its people.

WE WON! 🏆

Orbus³ has been named the 2026 Queensland Small Training Provider of the Year.

For a small team, this is a very big moment.

This recognition belongs to the people behind the work — our trainers and assessors out on site, our administration and compliance team keeping everything moving, and the employers, supervisors and learners who trust us to be part of their development.

We have always believed vocational education works best when it is connected to the real workplace, the real job and the person doing it. To have that work recognised at a state level means more than we can say.

To our team — thank you for the care, knowledge, persistence and integrity you bring to Orbus³ every day.

And to our learners, employers and industry partners — thank you for trusting us.

We’re incredibly proud to bring this one home. 💙🏆

2026 Queensland Small Training Provider of the Year.

We’re State Finalists! 🎉

We’re incredibly proud to announce that Orbus³ has been named a 2026 Queensland Training Awards State Finalist for Small Training Provider of the Year.

Orbus³ was founded by Aiden Leonard and Mal Phelan with a belief that civil construction training could be delivered better — more practically, more responsively and more closely connected to the realities of industry.

That vision has been carried forward over many years.

When Dean Gurney took over the business over 10 years ago, he and a team that included some of Orbus³’s original trainers continued to build on that foundation — steering the organisation through growth, change and an evolving training landscape while keeping the original purpose at its core.

Today, that legacy is still visible in the way we work.

Our training team travels thousands of kilometres each year across Queensland, working with learners and employers on civil construction sites and in regional and remote communities.

Behind every kilometre is a trainer leaving home, getting on the road and turning up where our learners are working. Behind every qualification is a team supporting the enrolment, training, assessment, reporting and countless other things that happen in the background.

As a small RTO, every person contributes. Our trainers, administration, and leadership team work together to support our learners and employers, continually improve what we do and maintain the quality and integrity of the training we deliver.

To be recognised at state level alongside other outstanding Queensland training providers is something we’re genuinely proud of.

It is also a wonderful acknowledgement of the legacy that began with Aiden and Mal, was carried forward by Dean and long-standing members of the training team, and continues through the people who make Orbus³ what it is today.

Thank you to our team, our clients, our employers and, most importantly, the learners who place their trust in us.

We’ll be heading to the Queensland Training Awards State Final in Brisbane on 19 September — and whatever happens on the night, this is already a wonderful acknowledgement of how far Orbus³ has come.

Happy Birthday and Milestone John Steel! All our best wishes for a grand new year 😊
Thanks for all you do, you’re a treasure.
