Not sure when a pool problem has moved beyond DIY? 👀

Some signs it may be time to call a technician include:

🔧 Leaks around pool equipment
🔧 Air in the system or a pump losing prime
🔧 Strange pump noises or vibration
🔧 Poor water flow or suction
🔧 Recurring cloudy or green water
🔧 Chlorinator faults or warning messages
🔧 Electrical or equipment issues

And sometimes, the reason is simply that you don’t have the time or confidence to stay on top of regular pool maintenance yourself — which is exactly what professional servicing is for.

We’ve covered what to look out for in our latest blog ⬇️

Cloudy water? Weak return flow? Pressure gauge looking a little different? 👀

Your pool filter may need some attention.

Common warning signs include:
💧 Cloudy or dull water
💧 Reduced flow or suction
💧 Unusually high or low filter pressure
💧 Dirt returning through the jets
💧 A suction cleaner slowing down
💧 Cartridge elements looking worn or damaged
💧 Needing to backwash or clean the filter more often than usual

Sometimes a clean or backwash is all that’s needed. Other times, the cartridge, filter media or internal components may need a closer look.

Still Feeling That Spring Chill? Your Pool Doesn't Have To.

While everyone else is shivering through spring mornings, your pool could be sitting at the perfect swimming temp — every single day.

With school holidays just around the corner, don't let a cold pool rob the kids of active, screen-free days. A pool heater means more laps, more games, more memories — not more "it's too cold, can we go inside?"

And it's not just a spring/winter fix. The same system that warms your pool now can help cool it down when summer turns blistering, keeping swims comfortable all year round.

We stock and install top-tier heating brands to suit any pool and budget:
🔥 **Madimack**
🔥 **Astral**
🔥 **Neptune**

Don't let another season slip by with an unused pool sitting in your backyard.

Pool Store Plus — Cairns' pool heating specialists.

Pool spare parts can look almost identical… until you try to fit them 😅

Skimmer baskets, vac plates, hose cuffs, O-rings, cartridge filter elements, cleaner parts and plumbing fittings can all vary by size, shape, brand, model, thread direction, locking lugs/tabs and connection type.

A part that looks “close enough” online may not seal, sit or connect properly once you get it home.

If you’re not sure which part you need, bring the old part into store where possible. Clear photos, measurements, product codes and equipment details can also help us match it correctly.

We’ve covered why the exact fit matters in our latest blog ⬇️

Pool shop or online store? Why not choose local advice that actually understands local pools? 💧

Online shopping can be convenient, but pool care is not always as simple as adding a product to cart.

At Pool Store Plus, you can visit us in-store for water testing, spare parts help, product advice, equipment recommendations and support from a local team that understands Cairns and Far North Queensland pool conditions.

We also have service technicians on the road, direct supplier support, and the ability to help with equipment installation where suitable — giving you support that an online-only seller often can’t provide.

We’ve covered why local pool shop advice still matters in our latest blog ⬇️
