We don’t have a shopfront. And honestly, we’re okay with that.

For a long time, I thought having a physical store was what success looked like.

A space of our own. Our name on the wall. A display fridge full of cakes. People walking through the door.
But the more we built Formulab, the more I realised that success doesn’t have to look like that.

We’re a small business, and being small doesn’t mean we’re unsuccessful.

Not having a shopfront means we have less overheads. Less rent, less staff, less daily operating costs, and more freedom to put our money, time and energy into what actually matters to us, for example, our ingredients, our equipment, our recipes and our cakes.

We don’t need a huge space or a big team to prove that we’re doing well.

We’re growing at our own pace, taking on what we can handle, and building something that works for us.
Maybe one day things will look different. Maybe we’ll have a shopfront, maybe we won’t.

But right now?
We’re pretty proud of this little business we’ve built with our own hands. 🤍

Small doesn’t mean unsuccessful.
It just means we’re doing things our way.
