Had a fantastic time yesterday at CDRC's vaccine and seminar day! 12 bunnies vaccinated before spring, and an attentive crowd who didn’t judge my very unorganised seminar on reproductive rabbit nutrition and gut health too harshly.

Memoire, a 6 month old otter buck, was one of the ones I had vaccinated yesterday. He wasn’t too impressed about being used as palpating practice by vet students, but he was well behaved anyways. Fortunately, he is not pregnant 🤣

Huge thank you to everyone involved in making the day a success, and a special thanks to Susan Batho and Kirsty Prince for the very informative seminar on fur breed type and coats!

This buck has been super slow maturing, only weighing in at 720g when weighed two weeks ago. I don’t think he’ll end up nicer than his father or grandfather, and I’ve kept two sisters of his already. He has been shown once as a kitten, and got good comments.

Happy for someone else to grow him out, or he’d make a cute pet.

Miraculously, a wild smoke marten has appeared! He’s not too shabby either, and will definitely be getting a ring once he’s big enough that he can’t flick it off like it’s an annoying fly.

Calliope Klirodotima x Barwon Valley Petit Noir

After having 5 does only kindle DOAs over the past couple weeks, this litter is the light at the end of a tunnel! A very anticipated litter from one of my absolute favourite does, Arcadia Experiment has successfully given birth to 3 pudgey beans! 🥳

So far I’m thinking she has a Siamese sable and two smoke pearls, but I’ll know for sure in a few days!
