Please note that this activity is appropriate for ages 5 years or older and requires adult supervision.

These hands-on activities are a chance to learn, reflect and connect while celebrating First Nations language, creativity and culture.

What a wonderful day of stories, laughter and community! Thank you to all the families, early learning centres, preschools and community members who joined Libraries ACT for National Simultaneous Storytime 2026.

A special thank you to our guest speakers, Library staff, and partners at Australian Library and Information Association for helping make this nationwide celebration so vibrant and memorable.

📖 This year, thousands of children across Australia and New Zealand shared Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller at the very same moment reminding us of the power of stories to connect us all.

We loved celebrating reading with you and hope to see you soon at your local library!

All Libraries ACT branches will be closed on Monday 1 June 2026 for the Reconciliation Day public holiday.

We’re excited to announce that Canberra Raiders NRLW player Lili Boyle will be joining us at Gungahlin Library for National Simultaneous Storytime 2026!

At 12 pm, Ms Lili Boyle will read Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller aloud as part of this nationwide celebration of reading and literacy.
