THE NUMBERS ARE IN AND AUSTRALIA’S RV INDUSTRY IS CHANGING!

The latest July 2026 RAV data has been released by the Caravan Industry Association of Australia, and both the monthly and year-to-date numbers make for interesting reading.

During July, 3,728 RVs were entered onto the Register of Approved Vehicles, down 10.8% compared with July 2025.

TOWABLE RVs – 3,362 | DOWN 14.0%

The Top 10 named towable makes for July were:

Regent RV (Snowy River Caravans) – 356
Jayco – 318
Austrack Campers – 226
Ezytrail – 196
Market Direct Campers – 179
Crusader Caravans – 133
Stoney Creek Campers – 88
Leader – 75
Dreamhaven Caravans – 74
Supreme Caravans – 70

But looking beyond a single month gives us an even better picture.

YEAR TO DATE – JANUARY TO JULY 2026

A total of 27,110 RVs have entered the RAV so far this year, comprising 24,720 towables and 2,390 motorised RVs.

For towables, the leading named makes YTD are:

Jayco – 3,180
Regent RV (Snowy River Caravans) – 1,875
Austrack Campers – 1,864
Market Direct Campers – 1,625
Ezytrail – 1,437
Crusader Caravans – 789
Stoney Creek Campers – 634
Leader – 503
Design RV – 462
Supreme Caravans – 436

Those YTD figures are particularly interesting when looking at the changing mix of Australia's towable RV sector.

Import-focused businesses including Austrack, Market Direct Campers and Ezytrail now sit prominently among long-established Australian caravan manufacturers.

And July itself produced some significant movements.

Ezytrail was up 26.5% compared with July 2025, while Stoney Creek increased 14.3%.

Meanwhile, Jayco was down 19.9% year-on-year for the month, Crusader fell 17.4% and Leader was down 16.7%.

MOTORISED RVs – 366 | UP 36.1%

Motorhomes and campervans tell a very different story.

July motorised RAV entries increased from 269 last year to 366 this July – up 36.1%.

And 2,390 motorised RVs have now entered the RAV during the first seven months of 2026.

Of the named motorised makes, the YTD figures are:

Jayco – 651
Avida – 344
Avan – 240
Talvor – 147
Frontline – 88

Another 920 motorised RVs sit within the broader “Other makes” category YTD.

So what are the numbers telling us?

We're seeing a changing mix of brands in towables, a significant presence from import-focused businesses, and strong activity within the motorised category.

⚠️ Importantly, RAV data is NOT retail sales data or market share.

It records vehicles entered onto the Register of Approved Vehicles and includes both locally manufactured and imported RVs. Timing of RAV submissions can also influence individual monthly figures.

But as an indicator of what's entering the Australian RV market, both the July and year-to-date figures are well worth watching.

🚨Important Announcement from Snowy River Caravans.
Snowy River Caravans has issued a product safety recall affecting certain Snowy River Caravan Hybrid (SRH) models fitted with the SR-Xplore suspension system.

A manufacturing issue affecting the weld on the suspension arms means the weld may not have sufficient strength and could crack when travelling over rough, uneven or unsealed roads.
511 caravans are affected across selected 2025–2026 SRH models.

Affected owners are being contacted directly.

Inspection, assessment and replacement of the suspension arms will be carried out free of charge.
