Good work matters, but so does the experience you have while we’re in your home. 🙌
Turning up on time, keeping you informed, getting the job done properly and leaving things tidy — it’s the standard we want every Smartfix customer to experience.
And apparently keeping the dogs happy is part of the job too. 😂🐶
Thanks to Mat, Josh and Kirsty for taking the time to leave these reviews, and a big shoutout to Tom, Ben and Kyle for representing Smartfix so well.

“It only trips sometimes, so we just flick it back on.”
We hear this one more often than you’d think. 😅
A safety switch tripping is usually trying to tell you something. Sometimes it’s an appliance, sometimes there’s an issue elsewhere in the circuit, and sometimes it takes a bit of testing to get to the bottom of it.
The good news? You don’t need to diagnose it yourself. That’s our job.
And while we’re there, if there’s another power point, switch or electrical issue that’s been on your “we should probably get someone to look at that” list — ask us. We’re always happy to take a look.

There’s a little more going on here than replacing a few switches. ⚡
This job involved a full rebuild of a three-phase electrical consumer panel, including reorganising the electrical load across the property, installing safety switches across all circuits, and completing testing of the existing wiring, earthing system and roof space.
While we were there, the team also took care of a new hard-wired smoke alarm, weatherproof power point and a number of other electrical checks and upgrades around the property.
A big part of jobs like this is looking at the electrical system as a whole. It’s not just about fixing what’s directly in front of us — it’s making sure the property is properly protected, the electrical demand is managed and the installation meets current standards.
Plenty happening behind the scenes on this one. 👏⚡

Here’s how zoning actually works❄️
Not exactly, but with the right zoning setup, you can have much more control over where your air con is working.
Zoning lets you separate different areas of the home, so you’re not wasting energy cooling or heating rooms no one is using. The best setup depends on your home’s layout, roof space and how you actually use each area.

ASK A TRADIE ⚡ How does a sensor light actually detect movement?
We asked qualified electrician Jarrad to explain it.
Sensor lights detect changes in infrared heat. So when a person, or even a pet, moves into the sensor’s range, that change in body heat can trigger the light to switch on.
Simple tech, but very handy for driveways, entryways and outdoor areas around the home. 💡

Another commercial lighting job completed in Yanchep 💡
We recently attended Yanchep Vet Hospital to install a new sensor light above the dog wash area.
The job included:
• Supply and installation of a double spotlight with sensor
• External conduit work from the laundry area to the new light location
• Full testing on completion
A simple upgrade that gives the team better visibility around the dog wash area, especially after dark.

How often should you service your ducted air conditioning? ❄️
It's a simple question, but the answer depends on how often you use your system.
In this week's Ask a Tradie, Sean explains what he recommends:
• If you use your system year-round for heating and cooling, aim for a service every 6 months.
• If you mainly use it over summer, an annual service before the warmer months is recommended.
• Regular servicing helps keep your system running efficiently.
• It can also help pick up small issues before they turn into costly repairs.
Watch the reel to hear Sean explain it in plain English, and let us know if there's an air conditioning question you'd like answered next.
The right air conditioning system makes a difference all year round.
Our air conditioning team recently completed a ducted air conditioning installation in Carramar, helping these homeowners get ready for Perth's changing seasons.
The job included:
✅ Installing the ducted system
✅ Completing the electrical connections
✅ Testing and commissioning the system
✅ Making sure everything was running smoothly before handover
Now the home is set up for reliable heating in winter and cooling in summer, with whole-home comfort at the touch of a button.

Getting an EV charger installation right starts long before the charger is mounted on the wall.
Before any work begins, our electricians check the switchboard's condition and spare space, the home's existing power demand, whether RCD protection needs upgrading, and whether the home would suit single or three phase charging. WA connection requirements can also come into play, depending on the property.
It's a lot to consider for what looks, on the surface, like a straightforward job. But this is the planning that makes the difference between an installation that works quietly in the background for years, and one that causes problems down the track.
We've broken down the full checklist on our website, for anyone weighing up an EV charger for their home.
