Hello Mariners ☀️

We wish to advise that VMR Raby Bay has signed the Transition Framework Agreement with Marine Rescue Queensland and will now commence the formal onboarding process into Marine Rescue Queensland as the Raby Bay Unit 🙌

While the organisational structure is changing, our focus remains the same.

For the past 40 years and for the next 40, we are here to support you, our our boating community 🛥️ 🎣

We want to reassure the public that the same dedicated local volunteers will continue operating from Raby Bay, in the same vessels, providing the same marine rescue and safety services that our community has come to rely upon ❤️

This milestone follows a lengthy period of consultation and planning and represents the next step in ensuring the continued delivery of marine rescue services across Queensland.

We thank our members, volunteers, supporters and our community for their ongoing commitment and support throughout this process 🙏

As the transition progresses, WE 👏🏻 will continue to keep everyone informed of any significant developments within our Base 🫶

⚓️ Marine Rescue Community ⚓️

On behalf of all members at Volunteer Marine Rescue Raby Bay, we are deeply saddened by the tragic events involving our brothers and sisters at Marine Rescue Ballina.

This is incredibly hard to process. Our crews are more than just volunteers; we are family. When something like this happens, it is felt by every one of us across the entire marine rescue community.

It does not matter what colour uniform we wear or which state we serve in, we are all volunteers united by the same purpose: saving lives at sea ❤️

We understand that the situation is still unfolding, and that privacy for the squadron and the families involved is paramount. During this time, we stand back with respect but we stand firmly beside you.

No one should ever lose a brother at sea.

To those grieving, please know this: we are so deeply sorry for your loss, and we stand ready to support you in any way we can: today, tomorrow, and in the days ahead.
