The occasion - the gala dinner for the NT Cattleman’s Association which closed out their conference at the Darwin Convention Centre. Multi-engine & IFR training this week for Innes Uys in Darwin, utilising our “classic” C55 Baron.

At Flight Standards, we have built our company on working with General Aviation operators Australia-wide to provide tailored training to suit their specific needs.

Kakadu Air is one such operator who is committed to the development of their pilots - co-ordinating leave schedules to help each of their pilots access the training they need to further their careers.

The NT still looking wet & green! Rainbows in the sky & fo anyone who recognises this remote Central Australian community - we’ve never seen the AFL field there with grass on it before… looking good!

This month, one of our Darwin-based Instructors, Max Ramm, gained that very rare low level instructor qualification! He can now assist with general Low Level training & in the future will be able to help “create” other Low Level Instructors!

As the wet season closes, the Bininj-Mungguy (people) of West Arnhemland enter Yegge. While you might think it means an end to the challenges of the wet, new ones are just around the corner!
Controlled burns are lit to clear spear grass; fertilise ground & assist with traditional hunting practices. Expect very poor visibility in every direction and a smoke smell you won’t be able to get out of your pilot shirts...

Alleah will be going on to her Commercial licence and has already started in on her CPL exams - we are working with her on our Pilot Career Pathway, and will soon be negotiating for a time to travel north to gain valuable top-end experience on her journey to commercial charter pilot.

Welcome to Northern Territory Air Services (NTAS), Josh Askew! With about 800 hours flying C208 Caravan, Josh has joined to become the next mail service pilot in the Cairns base - however first he has been honing his skills with Marcho & learning that there’s much more to the Caravan’s capability than up & down with skydivers!

Sydney turned on the stunning weather for former Gunbalanya pilot Aaron Hayward - now the Chief Pilot of a new operation, Aerodyne - to complete a Low Level Rating.

The mountains & valleys of the Great Dividing Range & the forested ALA of Katoomba make an exciting change to the flat open spaces of the NT!

Congrats on the new rating, Aaron; all the best with the new venture. Great to build a new relationship & looking forward to hearing of the successes.

Marcho has been busily training Matthew Lynch & Charlotte Siemering on these aircraft for Southern Airlines in Melbourne.
