Gab Ri Ela - Poet

Life plans

Just came across these pictures
of the Ekphrastic Poetry event
Where we poets read our responses to
Brett Leigh Dicks' Lunch Bars photography
June 2022

And it's quite cool to remember some of my poetry performances held at Ellenbrook Arts now that Ive just begun working there and also while we at Ellenbrook Arts are looking back at all the arts held in the building over the last 24 years now that we are about to move to a new home!

One of the first times I saw my art and poems featured in a gallery catalogue ✨️
July 2021
Meanwhile Gallery
ECU Contemporary Art Club

I typewrote poems about the body as home
And had constructable templates
For the poems to be formed into literal paper homes
For the gallery visitors to make and take

I love to be collaborative
Even when the work is individual
I feel it is not in isolation

And I like the interaction and the ownership and the influence to continue to be interchangeable

In 2021
There was Meanwhile
A gallery for a moment
That held our exhibition
5 years ago now
Still with me
Today
