Jan and Ben set off on a training flight this morning, with a few objectives to be completed as part of the planning and flight.

While the training objectives were certainly achieved, the highlight of the day had to be the buffet lunch β€” and, of course, the middle fridge β€” at Truscott Mungalalu Base! πŸ˜€

A great day of flying, training and, most importantly, keeping the crew well fed!

Many hands make light work…

This is certainly true in the aviation industry!

Jan and Ben returned from a training flight to Truscott and Kununurra at 5:00 pm this afternoon. The P2 crew, Justin and Russell, were on hand to help refuel and secure the aircraft, push it into the hangar, and complete the associated paperwork.

With everyone pitching in, the jobs were completed in just 30 minutes β€” approximately half the time they would normally take.

Teamwork is an important part of what we do, and today the team came together once again to get the job done efficiently and safely.

Thanks Russell for providing us with some photos - all photos used with permission.

πŸŽ‰ Happy Birthday, Norm! πŸŽ‚

In keeping with tradition, we celebrated Aspen’s IPC, Norm, on his birthday with cake, candles and, of course, a little Avcair-style fun!

We also made him an Honorary Pilot and officially inducted him into the legendary Hall of Embarrassment – Avcair style! πŸ˜‚βœˆοΈ

Happy Birthday, Norm β€” hope you had a fantastic day! πŸŽ‚πŸ₯³

Jan drove to the hangar last night to help the crew pack up after a medevac mission.
While waiting for the flight to land, he couldn't resist trying his hand at night photography (using his fancy iPhone) during the full moonrise.

In true Avcair tradition, today we bid farewell to Mitch on his last day of duty with us.

As with many young pilots in this industry, Mitch is moving on to bigger and better aircraft as he takes the next step in his aviation career.

Mitch, although you will be missed, on behalf of everyone at Avcair Karratha, we wish you all the very best for your future endeavours in the aviation industry. Thank you for all the hard work, dedication, and support you have contributed to the base during your time here β€” it certainly has not gone unnoticed.

Not only have you played an important role in keeping the base running smoothly, but you have also helped improve the base itself and leave it in a better place than you found it.

We appreciate everything you have done and wish you safe flying and every success in the future.

We had a beautiful sunset on the flight to Perth from Barrow Island this afternoon. The approach was quite bumpy however due to the weather round, and we arrived in Perth with cold, wet and windy conditions.

After the patient was handed over to St John's Ambulance, the crew enjoyed a nice meal from Nando's (minus the chips πŸ₯²) , and returned to Karratha with a full moon.

Jan attempted some night photography on the way back using his fancy iPhone πŸ˜€

Our crew had a delay on Barrow Island this afternoon while waiting for a patient to arrive from the clinic. While waiting they took the opportunity to show off some fancy poses in a photo shoot on the ramp.

Our crew were activated for a medevac mission at 10:20pm last night, to Barrow Island, Perth and return. The crew signed off at 6am this morning after operating all night.

Justin, Jan, Grant & Norm: thank you for all your hard work and awesome team work last night (and in the wee hours of this morning) to make this yet another successful mission. Hope you all managed to get some much needed sleep when you got back to the apartment this morning.

The Intensive Care Paramedic on our mission today decided to pose and show off his new flight suit while on the ground at Perth Airport today.
Looking good Scotty! πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘
