ποΈ A Piece of Glen Innes History
Built in 1887, the Great Central Hotel stands on the site of the original Telegraph Hotel, the first hotel in Glen Innes. Its distinctive wrought iron balconies and street-corner presence have made it one of the town's most recognisable heritage buildings for more than a century.
Today, it's just one of the fascinating stories waiting to be discovered along the Glen Innes Heritage Walk, a self-guided journey through the buildings, people and events that helped shape the Highlands. The walk showcases historic landmarks spanning generations of local history and offers a glimpse into Glen Innes' rich past.
π Download the Heritage Walk brochure from the Glen Innes Visitor Information Centre and explore the town's history at your own pace.
