Common Ground

We are back in the cafe for the first time this year. One of our resources for the year has arrived, a feminist commentary on the book of Acts, sure to be interesting, challenging and inspiring!

We have built a Christmas wreath over the four weeks of advent. Today we added bark, the symbol of love because it sheds to enable the tree to grow and it burns to enable seeds to sprout.

Classic cafe church! Coffee underway, bible open and the advent candles ready to be lit.

Always a good week when the puppet theatre appears.

Looking forward to a good time with friends, looking out for each other and encouraging each other for another week of getting kindness into our local communities and work places.

Check out Banyule Network of Uniting Churches for Easter Services. Common Ground won’t meet at 10am on Easter Sunday, as we will join in on the dawn service happening in the parklands.

Tomorrow at Common Ground, we will do a introduction to the Gospel of Luke and read a couple of passages. If you want to read ahead or play along at home, here are some links to a video overview of Luke and the bible passages that we will look at.

We are collaborating with Messy Church on Sunday, so look for us at 4:30 on Sunday down at Ivanhoe (Seddon St).

We all love the Cafe of Dangerous Ideas program that is held at the Sycamore Tree cafe most months, here is the program for this year.

The grapevine we made togrther this Sunday. Our theme was connecting together, a theme that is illustrated in the bible with stories and parables of grapevines, and we really loved exploring how diverse connections can be.
