Three in a row. Northern Championship Men’s Premiers 2026.

Northern Rangers NC Men are the 2026 Northern Championship Premiers, making it three consecutive league titles for the team.

After another season-long battle with Devonport Strikers, the boys finished the job and secured another Northern Championship title.

A huge achievement for a group that continues to set the standard year after year. Three consecutive titles takes plenty of hard work, consistency and commitment from the players, coaches and everyone behind the scenes.

A special mention to player coach Nick Lanau-Atkinson, who continues to lead the team both on and off the field, and captain Jesse Fulton, who has led the team throughout another successful season while also serving as Northern Rangers President.

Congratulations to everyone involved in another outstanding season.

And congratulations to our 2026 Northern Championship Men’s Golden Boot winner, Bryley Jordan.

At our final game of the season, Football Tasmania were on hand to present the championship trophy and medals to the team, making for a great way to finish another successful year.

Northern Championship Women’s Premiers 2026.

After two years without an NC Women’s team, Northern Rangers returned to the Northern Championship in 2026 and went all the way to take out the title.

Northern Championship Women’s Premiers.

A fantastic season from a group of players who came together, competed hard and showed plenty of quality throughout the year. To return to the competition and finish as champions is a pretty special achievement.

A huge congratulations to coach Marcus Hensley and captain Abbie Chugg, who led the team throughout the season and played a big part in bringing this group together.

At our final game of the season, Football Tasmania were on hand to present the championship trophy and medals to the team, making for a very fitting end to an outstanding season.

And congratulations to our 2026 Northern Championship Women’s Golden Boot winner, Moana Ritchie (Chamberlin).

A massive congratulations to every player, coach, volunteer and supporter who played a part in bringing the women’s team back and making this season what it was.

AUGUST/SEPTEMBER PLAYERS OF THE MONTH

And that’s a wrap on our final Players of the Month for 2026.

Congratulations to our final three Players of the Month for August/September.

NC1 – Sam Wagner
Sam finished the year continuing to do what Sam does best. Setting up plenty of goals and scoring 6 of his own for the last month. A big part of a strong finish for the NC1 team with 4 wins from 5 games.

NCW – Liyana Juraimi
A huge month of performances for Li in the women's pursuit of the title. In the last 4 games the girls had to play every other top 4 team to secure top spot. Li was instrumental in those wins, playing centre back and helping the girls to 4 consecutive clean sheets in the last 4 games to secure our 3rd NCW title.

NC – Pat Lanau-Atkinson
A prolific month for Pat with 12 goals, including 3 headers for the new-found aerial threat. A remarkable 7 goal game against Somerset helped Pat reach 21 goals for the season. A strong finish to help secure a 3rd consecutive title for the NC men.

Congratulations Sam, Li and Pat. A fantastic way to finish the season.

What a way to finish our home games for the season!

We wrapped up the year at home against Devonport Strikers, playing Round 2, and despite the rain, it was a fantastic day under the marquee. The heaters and mulled w**e definitely helped!

NC Women — WON 6–0
Goals: Moana Ritchie x3, Lily Horder, Abbie Chugg, OG

NC Men — WON 3–1
Goals: Diesel Murfet x2, Bryley Jordan

NC1 — LOST 1–3
Goal: Nicholas Heaney

A huge thank you to everyone who braved the rain and came along to support the teams. It was a great day and a brilliant way to finish our home games for the season.

And once again, a massive thank you to all our volunteers who work so hard to make our home games happen. We could not do it without you.

A special thank you to Jesse, Kirsten, Niki & Brett for everything you do behind the scenes to keep our home games running, these guys are the first to arrive and the last to leave! It is very much appreciated!

A special thank you also to FT for being there to present the medals and trophies to our NC Women and NC Men. More details on the celebrations to come!

Former Devonport Strikers and Launceston City, Northern Rangers FC favourite son Joel Stone has retired from Tasmanian football.

“After more than 15 years of playing football, I’ve made the difficult decision to hang up the boots.

Football has been such a huge part of my life. Over the years, I’ve made lifelong friends, shared some incredible memories and experienced plenty of highs and lows.

The commitment that goes into playing football for 15+ years is something I’m incredibly proud of.

Along the way, life changed too. I’ve had children, and watching my family grow has put a lot of things into perspective. As much as football has given me over the years, there’s no doubt that family is now where I want to invest more of my time.

Walking away won’t be easy. I already know how much I’m going to miss the feeling of pulling on the boots, stepping onto the pitch, competing with teammates and sharing those moments in the change rooms. Football has been more than just a game to me, it’s been a massive part of who I am and has given me memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.

While I’m sad to close this chapter, I’m also excited for what comes next. Retirement will give me more time with my family and the opportunity to be there for the moments that matter away from the football pitch.

To everyone I’ve played with, coached, competed against and shared a pitch with over the years, thank you. Thank you for the memories, the laughs, the battles, the wins, the losses and the friendships.

To my family, without you and all your love, support and sacrifice, none of this would have been possible, I will be forever grateful for all you and I can’t thank you all enough.

100 Games - Sam Wagner

This Saturday, Northern Rangers FC celebrate the fantastic 100 game milestone for Sam Wagner.

Sam has only been part of the Ranger family for 6 years, playing his first season with Rohan Pooley’s 2021 Northern Championship squad,, after many years with Launceston United. In this short time Sam has amassed an impressive goal catalogue, scoring countless goals that in anyone else’s book would be considered worldies.

A lethal left foot that strikes fear into the eyes of every goalkeeper in the North, earned Sam the club golden boot and B&F for the Rangers NC1 in 2024 and 2025. Sam is also in contention to earn the association golden boot in the NC1 competition this season. Along with his personal accolades, Sam was part of the Northern Championship squad that won the premiership in 2022. A player showered with high praise from his teammates, Sam is often referred to as the one to watch to any newcomer at the club,, since there’s a good chance you see a brilliant goal whenever you watch him play.

Come down and support Sam this Saturday as he plays his 100th game for the club alongside his brothers Dan and Simon at the NTCA - 12:15pm kick off NC1.
