I am from Osaka/Kyoto, Japan and moved to Sydney Australia in 2019. Now I live in Launceston, Tasmania and have set up my workspace. I studied "natural kintsugi" and "urushi lacquer art" based on Japanese traditional methods, under masters in Japan. This process is a safe and secure original construction method that does not use chemicals, irritating solvents or any VOCs(volatile organic compounds). Urushi lacquer is an amazing, deep and complicated art form - I am constantly learning new things and working out how to create unique textures, patterns and designs. All Re:ble products are carefully and beautifully hand-crafted by me - 100% natural urushi lacquer with upcycled sugarcane fibre - ultra lightweight and eco-friendly. Not just a cup or plate but something that speaks of craft and artistry from a long tradition of Japanese artisans.
