Mum and Cruz show this weekend! 🧡🏁

We knew we were in for a wild ride, but we were keen to prove we could tackle a race weekend with just the two of us.

Friday practice started well. Saturday brought a few kart dramas. By Sunday, we were back on… until the carby decided it didn’t want to play nice…. Cruz had to sit out Heat 4, which dropped him to P8 for the final. After qualifying P4, that was a hard pill to swallow.

He got stuck in for the final and finished P6 out of 16 overall.

Could we have had a stronger weekend? Yep.
Did we do the best we could with what we had? Also yep.

And while Cruz and I took this one on together, we definitely didn’t get through it alone.

Zac Tyson and Nate Thompson… no matter what karts we drive, we’ll always be teammates and we’ll always have each other’s backs. We love you guys and couldn’t have done this weekend without you. Blair, you’re included in that too!

Coach was sitting on the couch Friday, couldn’t stand Cruz being on the track while he wasn’t there and drove through the night to get here Saturday. A 12 hour drive turned into 17. Quick shower, no sleep, straight to the track. That’s commitment.

Cohen Day and Zayden, thank you for transporting Berthilda at the last minute. You made Mum’s life a whole lot easier!

They say it takes a village to raise a child. In Cruz’s case, it’s taken a village and then some. This weekend was a big one for him: he saw just how much he can handle himself, and how many people are right there behind him.

Lots of family and friends made the trip up to come watch him and he won’t forget who was there for him.

Bring on next weekend: NSW State Title…. Berthilda’s struggling a little… can she hold on for one more weekend and bring out the goods? Time will tell….

And

Don’t forget….. if you’d like to sponsor or donate to Cruz’s Vegas trip, we’re still looking for support to help get him to the grid! We can’t do it without your help. 💙

Don’t forget you can watch the action all day today on Kevs fb page

Another amazing family business supporting Cruz this year!

Leish and Lisa have been friends since they were practically still in nappies so having DNA Air & Refrigeration involved makes this one extra special.

Thanks so much for backing Cruz this year, guys. We’re stoked to have you with us! 🏁
