👐💦 Goop Sensory Play!
Our babies had lots of fun getting messy and exploring goop today! They loved grabbing it in their hands, squeezing, squishing and watching how it moved through their fingers. 🤍
This simple sensory experience supported the babies to explore different textures, cause and effect, fine-motor skills, hand–eye coordination and curiosity while engaging in open-ended play.
🌽 Our simple goop recipe:
2 cups cornflour + approximately 1 cup of water. Slowly add the water to the cornflour until you reach a soft, gooey consistency.
🌱
This experience supported Outcome 3 – Children have a strong sense of wellbeing and Outcome 4 – Children are confident and involved learners, as the babies used their senses, bodies and developing skills to investigate and explore the properties of the goop.

The Nursery children have engaged in a bathing the babies experience. The children started off using the cloths to bath the babies and ending with them splashing the water and playing with the bubbles. Lots of giggling and laughs were shared with each other.
LO1- Children have a strong sense of identity. Children develop nurturing and caring behaviours through pretend play.

Making bird nests. The kindergarten 2 children have been busy collecting natural materials from the playground, as well as paper and match sticks. They also used playdough to help create the nests for the birds and rolling the playdough into balls to make their eggs. During this activity the children engaged in conversations with their educators to discuss what was needed to make a bird nest safe for their babies.
This encouraged them to explore textures, shapes and natural materials while using their imagination and creativity.
EYLF Outcome 2 – Children are connected with and contribute to their world

How good do these biscuits look? The Toddler have engaged in a cooking experience where they had the opportunity to ice their own biscuits and add the toppings to it. The Toddlers did so well. The really enjoyed this activity but loved the end result more being able to eat their biscuits for afternoon tea.
This hands-on activity supported the children in developing their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and independence.
