Ever wonder why we put ourselves through it?

Early starts, long runs offshore, unpredictable weather — and on this trip, getting sharked FOUR times! 😂

But this day also delivered some cracking snapper, curious dolphins swimming up to say hello, and another close encounter with a humpback whale.

For me, that's what fishing is really about. It's not necessarily relaxing. It's swapping the everyday pressures of life for a completely different kind of pressure — one I choose. For a few hours, the only things that matter are the weather, the ocean, finding fish and whatever the day decides to throw at you.

That's the idea behind my latest video “One Incredible Day Offshore | This Is My Saltwater Therapy” — and it also was the inspiration behind my original song *Saltwater Therapy*, featured in the video.

This turned out to be one of those days that reminded me exactly why I keep heading offshore. BTW, this was Friday 21st August if you are curious!

Happy Friday everyone! May your fishing dreams come true.

I planned every detail of this offshore trip... the weather, the fuel, the route and the target species. Then the ocean had other ideas.

This video includes an in depth discussion on how I calculate the fuel required for these longer trips, why I have installed an auxiliary fuel tank, and some figures on KM and litres of fuel consumed. Hopefully helpful for your own trip planning and safety offshore.

Plus I catch the weirdest thing to ever get on a metal jig!

It's a question anglers have debated for years, so my mates and I headed offshore from Noosa to find out.

What followed was an incredible sunrise, calm seas, quality Mulloway, a curious dolphin wanting to join the action, and one simple difference in approach that made all the difference.
I also show the exact live bait rig and hooks I've relied to consistently catch Mulloway.
