Bank: “We just need one more thing.”
Me: “No worries.”
Bank, three days later: “Just one more thing.”
Me: “Yep.”
Bank, next week: “Just one more thing…”
Me: “YOU SAID THAT SIX DOCUMENTS AGO.” 😂
Anyone who’s applied for a home loan knows.

**You can’t live in 1980. You can start building your future today. 👊**

Different generations faced different pressures. Today’s challenges are real—but we still have opportunities, choices and a future worth working towards.

Take perspective from the past. Then put your energy into what you can do next.

**You get out what you put in.** The effort, the willingness to learn, the people you surround yourself with—it all matters.

Sometimes our biggest obstacle is deciding we’re beaten before we’ve even started.

Take ownership of your future. Make a plan. Take the first step. Keep moving.

And when you need help, ask. Find people who believe in what you’re trying to build and will help you work through the obstacles.

**I want you to have the best future you’re capable of creating.**

Your dream deserves more than “maybe one day”. Give it something today.

Chalmers’ $6 billion budget brag leaves out the number that matters.

He’s comparing the deficit with a forecast. Compare it with last year’s actual result and the deficit more than doubled: $10.0 billion to $22.3 billion.

Meanwhile, federal payments rose by $59.7 billion. Tax receipts rose too—but they didn’t stop the deficit growing.

Better than forecast isn’t the same as better than last year. That’s selective framing, and Australians deserve the full comparison.

There’s a better path: get a fair return from super-profits on our natural resources, make productive business investment more attractive, and cut unnecessary delays in planning and construction so more homes and infrastructure actually get built.

Tax smarter. Build faster. Lift productivity.

The RBA has raised the cash rate to 4.60%, marking the fourth increase this year.

So, what’s behind it?
Inflation is still proving stubborn, with everyday costs like food, housing, education and health continuing to put pressure on household budgets.

Buying a home?
Higher rates can mean lower borrowing power, higher repayments and tighter servicing checks. But there can be another side to it. Higher rates may cool buyer demand, which could mean less competition in some parts of the market.

Already have a home loan?
If you’re on a variable rate, your repayments may rise again. It could be a good time to check whether your loan is still competitive. On a fixed rate? You won’t feel the impact straight away, but it’s a good idea to know when your fixed period ends and what happens next.

And from here?
No one knows exactly what the RBA will do next, so it’s smart to be prepared for either outcome. Speak with your local MoneyQuest mortgage broker to review your options.

The RBA makes its next cash-rate decision tomorrow.

We won’t pretend to know the result before the Board announces it. But mortgage holders can prepare for more than one outcome.

• If the cash rate is held, that doesn’t automatically mean your current loan is competitive.
• If it rises, the effect on your repayments will depend on your balance, loan rate, remaining term and lender response.

Instead of betting on the announcement, understand what each outcome could mean for your household.

Hike or hold, we can help you decide your next move!

More than one million Australians now work multiple jobs, a record 6.9% of employed people.

When applying for a home loan, having two incomes doesn’t automatically mean both will be counted in full.

Lenders may consider:
• How long you’ve been in each job.
• How consistent your hours and income are.
• If you’re employed on a permanent, casual or contract basis.
• If working both jobs is sustainable over time.

The same income can be assessed differently by different lenders. That’s why understanding lender policy matters just as much as comparing interest rates.

Working more than one job? Talk to your local MoneyQuest broker about how lenders may assess your income, so you can set a clearer property budget.

One bank saying no doesn’t mean everyone will. 🐶😂
Banks don’t all play by the same rules.
Different lenders have different policies, different appetites and different ways of looking at the exact same deal.
Sometimes the answer really is no.
Sometimes it’s just “not with this bank.”
That distinction can make all the difference.
That’s where a good broker earns their keep. 😉
