ACT Nomination Update 🇦🇺

The ACT’s 2026–27 nomination allocation is still awaiting confirmation from the Australian Government.

In the meantime, ACT Migration has scheduled its first invitation round for the week commencing 12 October 2026, with tentative rounds planned throughout the program year. These dates may be revised once the final allocation is confirmed.

If you’re planning to apply for ACT 190 or 491 nomination, make sure your Canberra Matrix and supporting information are accurate and up to date.

Notes for ACT Migration Update

1. 2026–27 ACT nomination allocation: Final allocation of nomination places has not yet been confirmed.

2. Invitation rounds: ACT has tentatively scheduled the first invitation round for the week of 12 October 2026. Further rounds have also been tentatively planned but may change once the allocation is finalised.

3. ACT Migration Application Portal: The new portal has been operational since 30 July 2026. ACT is continuing to monitor and improve its functionality based on agent feedback.

4. Duplicate payments: ACT has advised that Canberra Matrix payment status may take several days to change to “Submitted.” Applicants should not make another payment simply because the status has not updated. They should contact ACT Migration first to confirm payment.

5. Canberra Matrix submission limit: The guidelines have been clarified. Applicants can have 2 Canberra Matrix submissions per nominated occupation, for a maximum of 4 occupations.
This applies regardless of whether the applicant is pursuing 190, 491, or a combination of pathways for that occupation.
Therefore, an applicant may have up to 8 active Canberra Matrix submissions at one time, subject to eligibility.

6. 2026–27 ACT Occupation List: The ACT is still reviewing the 2026–27 Nominated Migration Program Occupation List. Finalisation has been delayed due to uncertainty around the nomination allocation.
