Last week Irish folk artist Lorraine Nash dropped her new single ‘Whatever This May Be’, a song that is about letting go of control and feeling free in the unknown. The track marks a significant evolution in the multi-instrumentalists career as her first collaborative effort, enlisting Grammy-Award winning musician and producer Ron Block to bring it to life.
Out now, ‘Whatever This May Be’ is the start of her second album, one that will be introduced to audiences in Australian when she returns to our shores next year.
Nash caught up with our team to talk through the track and touring. Read it via the link in bio

☀️Looking forward to seeing Damien and Ron, banjo their way around the east coast of Australia ☀️

After seeing them play Your Roots Are Showing a few years back, their performances kept coming back to my mind. Very happy they will play Blue Mountains Music Festival

Ron Block (Alison Krauss and Union Station) and Damien O”Kane have two distinct banjo traditions, the fiery spirit of Irish tenor banjo and the soulful melodies of bluegrass. With O’Kane’s intricate fingerpicking and Block’s lightning-fast rolls, they craft a sound that is at once familiar and entirely new.”

“I challenge banjo non-believers not to be charmed.” — The Journal of Music

“I was utterly blown away by these guys. Exquisite musicianship. My gig of the year.” — Ralph McTell

“…inspirational…a new and innovative sound. The energy, groove and technique will inspire musicians of any genre.” – Gerry ‘Banjo’ O’Connor
