Yesterday, our Director Julian attended the Australian Tutoring Association National Conference 2026 in Sydney, centred on this year’s theme, Building Better Tutoring: Practice, Evidence and Community Impact.
Julian contributed as a panellist in two plenary discussions, one exploring how tutoring differs from school, and the other looking at navigating tutor identities.
Both discussions explored the role of tutors, what makes tutoring distinct from classroom teaching, and how the sector can continue to strengthen its practice while keeping student outcomes at the centre.
It was also a valuable opportunity to hear perspectives from across the tutoring community and reflect on how we can continue strengthening our own practice at TutorWo.

Another great evening bringing together some of our Melbourne-based team at our TutorWo Staff Social Event, this time the QT Melbourne’s Rooftop at QT.
It was a great opportunity for everyone to catch up, meet other team members and build stronger connections outside of their usual tutoring work.
As a predominantly remote and hybrid workplace, events like these play an important role in bringing our wider team together and continuing to build the professional and supportive culture we value at TutorWo.
A big thank you to everyone who joined us and made it such an enjoyable night!
