Minimalism or maximalism—which works best for your home? 🏡

As a professional organiser, people often assume I’m pro-minimalism and anti-maximalism. But there’s no one right way to create an organised home.

In my latest blog, I explore the pros and cons of both, the difference between maximalism and clutter, and how to create a home that works for you.

I’m excited to announce that I will be a panellist at the Zero Waste Victoria Festival 2026 this Saturday, 12 September, at 2 pm at Federation Square.

With my fellow panellists, we will explore how sustainable living doesn’t have to mean doing everything perfectly. This conversation gets real about the choices we make every day, the barriers that can get in the way, and how small, practical shifts can add up to meaningful change.

Less guilt, less clutter, more intention, and plenty of ideas you can actually use.

It's a free event, and I hope to see you there. For tickets, visit:

Is Clutter Slowing You Down? - Creating Positive Spaces 25/08/2026

🚗 Does your home sometimes feel like peak-hour traffic?

When there’s too much stuff competing for space, everyday tasks can take longer and feel harder than they need to.

A crowded kitchen bench can make preparing dinner feel like navigating a traffic jam. An overcrowded wardrobe can make getting dressed and putting clothes away more difficult.

In my latest blog, I explore how clutter can create congestion in our homes—and what we can do to ease the traffic.

Declutter 1 Item a Day – June & July Reflections

The last two months have been about closing the loop and maintenance.

I focused on those things I knew I no longer wanted but just hadn't got around to dealing with — from décor and jigsaw puzzles to paperwork and stationery.

After seven months, I'm realising that decluttering isn't a one-time event. Like weeds in a garden, things can creep back in!

When Should You Use a Storage Unit? - Creating Positive Spaces 12/08/2026

A storage unit can be incredibly useful when you're moving, renovating, travelling or living in a small space.

But it's worth asking: are you paying to store things you actually use, or things you haven't decided about?

If storage costs $1,500 a year, that's $7,500 over five years—before insurance.

I've written about when a storage unit makes sense, the costs to consider, and when it might be time to let it go.

Antique, Vintage, or Retro? A Guide to Furniture Sourcing Terms - Creating Positive Spaces 10/06/2026

🪑 Antique, Vintage, Retro, Replica or Reproduction... what's the difference?

Recently, while working with a client, we found ourselves discussing whether a furniture piece was vintage or antique. It made me realise that many of the terms we use when buying furniture and home décor are often misunderstood.

Did you know:
✔️ Antique furniture is generally over 100 years old.
✔️ Vintage furniture is typically between 20 and 99 years old.
✔️ Retro furniture refers to new pieces inspired by past styles.
✔️ Replicas and reproductions aren't the same thing!

Understanding these terms can help you make more informed decisions when sourcing furniture, whether you're furnishing a home, looking for a statement piece, or trying to shop more sustainably.

I've unpacked the key differences in my latest blog.

Have you ever purchased a piece thinking it was one thing, only to discover it was something else? Let me know in the comments!
