Family life doesn't come with a single financial plan: but it comes with a dozen moving parts. School fees, a bigger mortgage, one income while someone's on parental leave, ageing parents who might need support down the track.
Family financial planning is about bringing all of that together into one plan that actually reflects how your household works - not a generic template that assumes everyone's situation looks the same.
We help families get clear on what matters most, build a plan around it, and adjust it as life changes: because it always does.

Most people think that their retirement either has to be self-funded or struggling on the pension. But in reality, most of our clients have a strategic blend of super, pension and self-funding.
It's all about carefully planning what you're eligible for, so that you have enough to enjoy retirement with peace of mind.
Working out where you sit in all this isn't something you need to figure out alone. We're here to help.

Investing for your kids while they're young is one of the best financial gifts you can give them.
π The catch: the ATO taxes kids' investment income differently, specifically to stop parents from "parking" their own money in a child's name to dodge tax.
If your child earns above $416 a year in investment income, it's taxed at 66% on the amount over that threshold, and once it passes $1,307, the whole lot is taxed at 45% plus the Medicare levy. That makes investing directly in your child's name a lot less appealing than it sounds.
π Investment bonds are a popular workaround for exactly this reason. The earnings are taxed inside the bond itself, at a maximum rate of 30%, and you don't need to declare anything on your own tax return or your child's.
Hold it for 10 years and, in most cases, you won't pay any further tax on the growth at all.
π Some parents use a simple trust structure instead - investing in their own name but earmarking it for their kids. It's simpler to set up, but any income is taxed as yours, not theirs - worth weighing up depending on your own tax position.
The best structure depends on your goals and timeframe, but the earlier you start, the more that time does the heavy lifting.

A lot of families aren't ignoring their finances, but life never slows down enough to actually deal with them properly.
That's exactly what the Family Financial Plan is for: to bring everything together in one place, with someone else doing the heavy lifting.

Budgeting has a reputation problem: it's usually the thing people put off until things feel out of control.
But a good budget isn't about cutting everything fun out of your life. It's about knowing exactly where your money is going, so you can be intentional about where it goes next.
We work with clients to build budgets around how they actually live - not some idealised version with no coffees or weekends away - because a budget you can't stick to isn't really a budget at all.
Once that foundation is in place, every other part of your financial plan gets a lot easier to build.

You've probably heard the term 'Transition to Retirement' (or TTR) thrown around, but here's what it actually means.
π Once you hit your preservation age, you can start drawing an income from your super - even while you're still working.
π You can access between 4% and 10% of your super balance each year as a TTR pension.
π It's designed to give you flexibility: cut back your hours without cutting your income, or keep working full-time and use it as a tax strategy - salary sacrificing more into super while topping up your pay from the TTR pension.
π Once you fully retire, turn 65, or meet another "condition of release," it automatically converts into a standard account-based pension.
Basically, it's a way to ease into retirement on your terms.

At 62, one of our clients wasn't ready to retire - but he wasn't sure he wanted five more years of five-day weeks either.
He'd always pictured retirement as a hard stop: full-time one day, done the next.
But when it came down to it, he realised what he actually wanted was more time: more time with his grandkids, more time on the boat, more time doing nothing in particular on a Tuesday.
So instead of waiting until he could afford to fully retire, we set him up with a transition to retirement strategy. He dropped down to three days a week, and topped up his income with a small, tax-effective income stream from his super to cover the difference.
Two years on, he's still not "retired" in the traditional sense. But he's already living most of the life he was waiting for.
And when he does decide to stop altogether, the transition won't feel like falling off a cliff. It'll just be one more small step, the same as all the others.

Your plan won't look like anyone else's. That's the point.
Our job is to plan your money in a way that it supports a life you want to live:
β
One of our clients wants to pay off the house, invest for their kids and retire at 60.
β
Another wants to caravan around Australia when they retire in a few years.
β
Another wants to work part-time before they retire so they can look after their grandkids.
We create financial plans that aren't just smart, but personal - designed to support the life you actually want, not what everyone else is doing.
Because when the plan is truly yours, it's usually one you'll stick to.
