Metro Mood by Revival Runway ✨

Revival Runway is a Melbourne non-profit run entirely by volunteers. Since 2019 it has given independent Australian designers a professional runway, with a focus on quality, sustainability and originality.

At Metro Mood, 12 designers showed their special collections, and the Artisan Market was full of beautiful handmade pieces from local makers.

Has anyone else spotted the wisteria out right now?

Spring in Spotswood is putting on a show this week. It only lasts a couple of weeks, so get out for a walk while it’s here.

Tell me your favourite wisteria spot around here. I’m always looking for new ones!

The voice I use on myself at the end of a long week would horrify me if I heard someone use it on a friend. Too slow. Not enough. Should be further along by now.

But I’d never measure anyone else that way. I’d look at everything they’d carried and tell them, honestly, that it was a lot.

Maybe the trick is just turning that around. Same eyes, same generosity, pointed inward for once. 🌸

Things they don’t put in the photography course:
- You will kneel on gravel
- You will lie in wet grass
- You will hold a squat for 90 seconds
- You will feel all of it tomorrow.

First time at Kyneton Botanical Gardens in spring, and look at this carpet of flowers. Just beautiful.

I used to say I couldn’t take a selfie. Turns out I just needed my camera in the frame with me.

Still a phone selfie. But with my camera in my hands I smile before I’ve even thought about smiling, and that’s the bit you can’t fake.

Photographer friends, one photo of you with your camera in it. Selfie, mirror, timer, whatever works.

We’re always the ones making sure everyone else ends up in a photo. We should be in a few too. 📸

Some dishes don’t just feed you. They take you home.
This is the food I grew up on in Hanoi, and I found it at Anh Tuk in Footscray. Grilled fish, sizzling steak, and a whole childhood in one mouthful.
