We’ve officially broken ground at Yatala.
Today marks the start of construction on our new 50,000m² advanced manufacturing facility on the Gold Coast, and an important next step for Modscape + Modbotics in Queensland.
Once operational, the purpose-built facility will have the capacity to deliver the equivalent to a two-bedroom dwelling every two hours. The facility will also support around 300 ongoing roles, creating a permanent base to grow our local team, expand our manufacturing capability and deliver high-quality buildings at greater scale.
As our CEO Jan Gyrn said:

We’re enormously excited about what we’re building at Yatala, the jobs and manufacturing capability it will create, and what it represents for the next chapter of Modscape + Modbotics in Queensland.
According to our Project Manager, Burak Guler: “The most impressive thing about this job is seeing an entire home arrive on the back of a truck, and a day later, you’ve got a fully completed home.”
Behind that moment is months of planning, manufacturing and coordination. Burak shares what it took to deliver the first MMC social housing homes for Homes NSW in the Sydney metro.
Modscape + Modbotics was engaged by Homes NSW under a Design & Construct contract to deliver 20 turnkey social housing homes across metropolitan Sydney. The project comprises 72 modules manufactured in our factory while site works progress concurrently.
Each home is manufactured in 20 days, installed in 1 day, and completed over a 4-week post-install programme, putting handover just 4–6 weeks from the start of construction.
