Type1Screen offers Australian residents screening for the early detection of type 1 diabetes. Type1Screen is proudly supported by JDRF Australia.

Australian and New Zealand residents, who have a family member living with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D), are encouraged to find out more about Type1Screen. A simple blood test is all it takes to find out if you, or your child, at are increased risk of developing the condition. If you have a family history of T1D, when compared to the rest of the population, your risk of developing the condition is greater. Although there is currently no cure, early detection of T1D before symptoms present helps to prevent serious illness and provides options for intervention and prevention trials that may prevent or delay the onset of T1D.

Can you please help us spread the word?
Screening for type 1 diabetes autoantibodies is free and can be done in the comfort of your own home. The test is simple and available to Australians aged 1 year and over.
Please share across Australia and help us to support people with early stage type 1 diabetes.
Kindest thanks 💙💙💙

Last week, Team Type1Screen had a fantastic time at the IDF-WPR and Australasian Diabetes Congress 2026 in Melbourne! 💙
It was a wonderful opportunity to meet so many new people, connect with colleagues and, most importantly, talk about the importance of screening for type 1 diabetes autoantibodies.
We were thrilled to offer healthcare professionals the opportunity to experience the Type1Screen process for themselves, so they can better understand the experience and confidently talk about screening with the people in their care.
Across the congress, 135 healthcare professionals completed Type1Screen and we spoke with many more about screening!
That means hundreds more healthcare professionals now know about Type1Screen and can help spread the word about early detection.
