Today is Auslan Day! Auslan is an Australian language created by Deaf people which has been passed on for many, many generations . It's roots come from British Sign Language and over hundreds of years has become its own dialect.
Auslan is used by Deaf community members who include, Deaf and hard of hearing people, codas, extended family, students, Interpreters and many more
It is such a magnificent language that anyone can study and learn!
So I encourage you to learn some Auslan to be able to chat with Deaf people.
