20 years after this photo was taken these 2 dudes are bout to go on tour together (I promise they’re way more stoked about it than they look in this flick).

I first heard met Brother Ali back in 2006 when he toured Australia supporting Atmosphere. I travelled interstate to attend all 3 dates of the tour, studying from the front row every night and absorbing whatever knowledge I could from Ali and the rest of the ever patient Rhymesayers crew after the shows.

Since then, I’ve been lucky enough to see Ali perform in settings from small nightclubs on Oxford Street to festival main stages in Switzerland and even as the keynote speaker at Big Sound music conference. A few years ago I even attended his online learning series Blood On Beats, trying to step up my pen game by learning direct from a masterful rhymer and songwriter.

Ali’s music and message has been a part of my life for a long time, and so I’m super stoked and honoured to be supporting him this September. My good friend DJ Morgs will be spinning for me on these shows, and we’re putting together a super fun set that should warm the stage up for one of the game’s legendary MC’s to do his thing.
