Sabre Sound Studio

Sabre Sound Studio recently had the pleasure of having Mr Doily in the Studio to record some Tracks. The Alternative Rock band have an electric feel with a groove that gets you moving. Recorded and Produced by James Farnill, his vision really added more vibe to the band's strong foundation. Supported by intern Kurt Ennis.

Sabre Sound Studio recently hosted 2 piece thrash metal outfit Hell Machine tracking their 3rd Album. Sabres modern take on the “old school” studio matched perfectly with Hell Machines modern take on old school blackened thrash metal. Produced and engineered by our own heavy expert Troy McCosker. Assisted by Ben Heitmann Ben Heitmann the guys had a blast creating an all out thrash attack and the bass rig from Hell. Reported on the Richter scale!

A big welcome to Maude Minnie Morris (engineer/producer) and Brodie Evans (assistant engineer) to Sabre Sound Studio's awesome team of audio engineers/producers. Alongside Dave Kerven (principal engineer) and house engineer/producers, Troy Mccosker and Gareth Parton. Check out their Bio's on our website. Contact us to hear about our introductory rates.

A big shout out to Troy Mccosker for facilitating our first Audio Clinic. Micing and recording drums with the support of Ben Heitmann as drummer. Teaching micing techniques on two different drum kits. A traditional rock kit set up and a modern metal kit set up. One of the highlights was positioning mics in the warehouse at the rear of the studio. Awesome effect. Thanks to those that attended the session. Please DM us if you're keen on any Audio Engineering techniques for future clinics.

Jesse Younan left behind four albums, a guitar style entirely his own, and songs that refused to look away from the brutal truths of life.

Eighteen years after Jesse’s death, those songs continue to find their way into the hands and hearts of artists and audiences through the annual Jesse Younan Tribute shows.

Each artist brings their own voice, instinct and experience to Jesse’s work, carrying the songs forward to be discovered by listeners for years to come.

This October, the tribute returns to Melbourne at Brunswick Ballroom, bringing together some of Australia’s finest singer-songwriter and musicians for one night celebrating Jesse’s music.

Jesse died from leukaemia in 2008, aged 35, shortly after completing his fourth album, A Good Day for a Migraine. His melancholic voice, distinctive fingerpicking style and raw, unflinching songwriting earned critical acclaim during his lifetime. His music has continued well beyond it.

“The tonic is the miraculous beauty of his music.”
Michael Dwyer, The Age

All proceeds go to the Leukaemia Foundation.
