Theyβve been a household staple for generations β but do you remember the operating instructions, including that surprisingly alarming note at the end?
We think this particular version dates back to the 1950s. Do you still use one of these vintage classics, or have you upgraded to a modern, more efficient model?
Share your memories (or safety warnings!) in the comments below!

After conquering a massive 3,000-piece jigsaw, the library team decided it was time for a change of pace! Weβre now tackling a 3D puzzle of the Taj Mahalβand we could use a few extra hands.
Itβs a delicate balancing act of fitting horizontal layers before locking in the vertical pieces (and let's just say the instructions aren't much help!)
All help is welcome. Grab a friend, pop into the library, and see who can lock in the next piece first!

Picnics were a staple of early life in Merredin. They offered a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with family and friends, share a meal, and foster stronger working relationships.
Can you guess when this particular picnic was held, and who the group of people belonged to?

Weβve all heard the golden rule: always read the book before watching the movie. But let's be honest, that can backfire. You build a vivid picture of the characters in your head, only for the casting director to choose someone completely different. Talk about a mind bend!
Hereβs a plot twist for your reading routine: try watching the movie first.
When you screen the film ahead of time, your brain instantly adopts the cast for the page. Then, when you dive into the book, you get to sit back and enjoy all the rich subplots, hidden backstories, and extra scenes that never made the final edit. Itβs the ultimate win-win!
The Merredin Library is packed with page-turners that inspired your favorite screen adaptations. Check out our first round of picks below!
