Monday Cricket Premiers! 🏏🥇

Last week saw our social seasons wrap up across the week for the Winter season.

Monday Cricket had 4 divisions battling it out, congratulations to our Premiers!

Division 1 - Bad Manners

The Manners lads continued their utter dominance of Mondays Div 1 finals, defeating 53 Cans in a clinical display. They are our most successful social team, having won all Monday Div 1 premierships since we moved to Arena42, well done!

Division 2 - Budgie Smugglers 2.0

The Budgies put on a masterful fielding display, taking 22 wickets to keep the Ball Tamperers to 99, before batting well to hit 148 and take out the title! Well done guys!

Division 3 - Crownies

The team from Eyre Royals CC (plus a handy ring-in, see if you can spot him in the photo!) were too good for 12th Men, chasing a very respectable 149 to hit 181 and win the division. Congrats to all involved!

Division 4 - Catch You Later

Another dominant performance in our last final of the night saw Catch You Later win 207 - 97.

We could talk ya ear off about this bloke.

That's Daniel, the owner. He's not some suit who bought a venue. He's played this game at state level for South Australia, alongside blokes who've gone on to pull on the green and gold at World Cups.

These days he's just as likely to be umpiring your Tuesday-nighter, chasing up a forfeit fee, or setting up the courts for a national championship. Arena 42 has hosted them, the Masters Nationals, the Trans-Tasman Club Challenge, the events that send Aussie players off to the world stage.

Thirty-odd years indoor cricket's been his whole life. And the reason this place still feels like a community and not a business is because the bloke running it plays the game himself, cares about it, and knows it from the inside out.

So next time he gives you out, maybe let this one go through to the keeper.
